Something about the two sharing a breathing device, but the writing is so sloppy it's hard to make out.

Stockton teen found dead after diving with father in river - California News Times
Stockton, CA — Just before noon on Saturday, a teenager went missing in the waters near Buckley Cove Park.

A boat crew member of the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office recovered the body of a 14-year-old boy on the San Joaquin River. He was confirmed dead by Stockton police.

The boy was with his father trying to find and retrieve a boat anchor that was lost while diving in the river.

When the father noticed that his son had breathing problems, the two were using a breathing device. Teenagers were no longer obsessed with the line when the father pulled the line up so that his son could breathe air.
