Today's dive conditions were terrible due to a large swell.
I am not a hunter but my dive friend Steve is. This is a Red Octopus (a/k/a "Tako" locally) weighing about 5 pounds. Steve did not have his 3 prong today and hunted by hand. The first Tako he grabbed climbed all over his upper torso and face pulling his regulator out of his mouth. This was the second catch.

Conditions look perfect in the photo. Does you hunter friend eat the octo?

I don't see a pic :(

There were 4 to 6 foot swells coming in. The surge was strong even at 75 feet.. Yes, he eats the Tako.

I saw a woman wearing a hat just like that on New Years Eve! lol

I assumed he ate the Octopus. I would have real problems with a hunter not eating his/her kill. I've had octopus before, I wasn't that fond of the way it was prepared. However, fried calamari is wonderful.
