Here: Performance Development for Technical Divers
I am mainly a recreational diver for now, but I am finding that several of the recreational PADI courses (AOW and some of the specialties) to be very lightweight, mostly rehashing the same topics from earlier courses without adding much useful content.
I have an interest in doing Wreck...
Hello all,
I start to have a lot of dive, more I dive more I meet Sidemount divers, they are all telling me that's the best way to dive.
I can understand the point in cave or wreck but not for fun dives. Can someone explain me why is that so great ?
I'm currently a Divemaster in Honduras, working as a dive guide, but I eventually want to move into sidemount and cavern and am curious what gear is best suited for starting. I have the Zeagle Zena right now, and really enjoy it, and have a scuba pro mk250 evo.. Would I need to buy two new...

I'm selling my Suunto Eon Steel with two transmitters for $900.00 including US shipping with insurance. I will sell it with one or no transmitters but I will not sell the transmitters until the computer sells.
There are no scratches or scuffs, only the rub marks from contact with my suit or...
I been certified for 10 years but just got back into diving and doing about 6 dives a month. Currently just use depth gauge and bottom timer with tables but I now think it is worth it to buy a computer.
My budget is around $500
Currently only doing rec diving but might get into tech in a few...

I'm wondering what hose types people are using for tec diving - helium, blends over 40% oxygen, etc. At the moment I'm using Miflex hoses for Air and Nitrox but it seems these are only rated for up to 40% oxygen. Not interested in length discussions, just materials and brands.
FOR SALE: Two Shearwater Petrel (v1) computers. $550 each or $1000 for both together. These are awesome tech and rec computers, which goes without saying. Both are in excellent shape and have been immaculately cared for, like new condition. One has 15 dives on it, the other 45, so they are in...
hey,
So I'm a little confused as to how the no fly time and desaturation time work. My no fly time is usually about 12 hours after a couple of dives but the desaturation time can be upwards of 24 hours. Can someone explain to me what the correlation between the two is and why they can be so...

Hi!
I was wondering if any of you would teach a tech course (mix gas), or offer deep diving. I am a PADI Divemaster and BSAC Dive Leader, so am qualified to do 50M, on air. I haven't been able to arrange to do deep dives (130+ ft) with a shop for the days I am in Honolulu -- prefer to dive on...
Howdy, folks!
I got into sidemount tech briefly before a prognosis from my doctor that I shouldn't be diving, much less doubles tech due to a back injury. So, I got a good dive or maybe two out of this gear. I set it all up with help from one of the best sidemount tech instructors in the area...
