Hi All,
I am beginning my Tech Diving in the next 6 months, I am currently facing the choice of Side-mount vs Back-mount. I would like to get some basic training before my TDI AN&DP to familiarise myself with my chosen setup and as such am leaning towards Side-mount as its a common course...
Hello!
I am fairly new to diving and was hoping you all with far more experience and knowledge would be able to help me out. I have a few questions. One is, which company has better quality gear and warranty should anything happen when it comes to BP/W, OMS or Halcyon Dive Systems? I have been...
Thinking about taking a couple/few months off next year to get formal technical training. Since I lived in the Riviera Maya before, I was thinking Cozumel or Playa or Tulum, but would be open to other locations in the area if it is the right choice.
My idea is to take the full range of tech...
Hi everybody!
My goal is to be able to calculate NDLs. I'm currently using Buhlmann's M-values, and I can use the "Schreiner equation" to calculate the tissue pressures at any point in a dive. I cannot figure out how to calculate NDLs for the compartments at points in a dive.
I'm using Deco...

I've browsed the forum and have spent most of the day doing research (and I've done plenty in the past months too) and I'm still fairly undecided on what to do, so I'm turning to you all for advice...

I’ve been looking around to buy some tech diving gear and came across a carbon fiber backplate. My question is does anyone have any experience with using a carbon fiber backplate in fresh and salt water? I’m looking for a light weight easy to travel rig that holds up well in both environments...
What do you use? Pinky or Hawaiian hang loose?
I ask because the other day I went into deco and did a Hawaiian to my instructor. It took him a minute to understand I was doing deco and not trying to tell him that I was really excited (which I was actually, so... I guess 2 birds with a stone?)
So, I've been diving for a couple of years and have logged 72 dives. I have always been comfortable underwater and can also perform decent freediving. When swimming in the sea for fun I'm ok with going down to 10 meters to explore and hold my breath for a minute, comfortably coming back up...
Hey all,
I’m searching for a tech dive shop or individual in Florida to start some tech diving courses. I’m now a PADI rescue diver plus nitrox and sidemount. I think i will take ITT and AD/DP first, and go on to wreck later.
But after tons of searching, I’m quite lost. As my first...
Hi everyone, I just got my Santi E.Motion Plus drysuit with Smarteals. I am looking for a pair of heavy duty dry gloves. I am 165cm (5'5) so I have small hands. I've checked Waterproof latex gloves hd and fourth element's heavy duty dry gloves. They have the same sizes and the smallest ones are...
Hi,
Currently a PADI AOW, completing SDI rescue and TDI nitrox this summer (Aus). Want to progress into Tech diving next summer and was wondering if it's worth doing any other specialities such as deep diver?
Will be doing the training with TDI, planning on starting with Intro to Tech followed...
Hey I am considering getting some diverite regs. Who has experience with these regs (DiveRite XT-1 first stage/XT-2 second stage). If you own this setup have you had issues with them, what were they? Are they reliable regs from an engineering standpoint? How do they breathe at depth?
Hello, So I just got certified as a technical diver and was wondering if my current setup can handle my upcoming adventures.
I currently have a WSX-25 side mount BCD with 5kg(11 lbs) of lead to maintain a decent trim using two aluminium 12L tanks. I've tried the same setup with three 12L tanks...
