A friend created an app controlled tank tumbler.
The structure is made of random stuff and ideas from this forum like the skateboard wheels idea.
Then we found a cheap stepper motor and wrote the code for it. Then a basic phone app to set the parameters.
You can set the time, spin...
Hello,
I recently found some strange tanks. On first glance it seems to be a cheap Chinese composite tank. We have 3 of them.
But once you try to fit it with a valve you run into problems. And we failed to find a valve for it. It's seems the manufacturer made a mistake.
The tank sticker says...
I'm 6'3" (170cm), 175lbs (80kg), steel BP/W with dual cambands and a zeagle F8 yoke. I am doing mostly air for shore dives, but am nitrox certified. I've just started diving dry (previously all wet) in the north east of the US. I've done ~115 dives. I'm at a point where I can get some tanks. A...
I discovered that many people adjust weights when switching between 12L steel and 15L. Even my instructor told me to subtract 2kg. I wonder why and if I’m missing something. I don’t do any adjustments because based on charts, at least for Faber steel tanks, the difference in buoyancy is just...

I had a terrible incident where my tank slipped out of my current BCD that only has one tank strap. That took me down the rabbit hole don’t BCD have two?
Since it is not fun to not be able to secure a tank 30 minutes into a dive at 60 feet deep while trying to maintain buoyancy I’d like a BCD...
For sale is a PST high pressure steel 80 cu ft (HP80) cylinder.
These tanks have fantastic buoyancy characteristics (~ -2 lbs empty), saving you lead on your weight belt.
Great shore diving tank at only 28 lbs dry weight -- I have less than 45 lbs on all in (lead, tank, other gear) heading...
Did some other scuba material maintenance as regs and went well so far. Decided to get to Alu tanks which were thrown and not maintained since a loooong time, and probably filled with not that great air.
Will stay on non oxygen tanks, thinking about air only.
So after having the troubles with...
I only have aluminum 80s and know high capacity steel has big advantages. I want the extra air and negative buoyancy. I can get a LOW 2400 pressure steel 105 with fresh hydro and VIP for $175. Much cheaper then new or high pressure. My question, for the extra weight and girth and possibly being...
Hi,
I am considering buying Faber Hot dipped galvanized HP 100s. I am curious about their durability. There are not a lot of detailed specifics I can find other than galvanized offers superior protection to paint.
I currently have two aluminum 80s that I dont take care of. They live in my...
I have my open water certification but haven't used it in a year. Going to do my refresher tomorrow!
Also I made an app to calculate approximate air time based on a few inputs if anyone finds this helpful:

Faber LP85 Doubles. Originally $962 for the entire setup from DGX. 2 years until first hydro. DGX Premium Modular valves, Isolator, and Bands. Will break them down into singles for a sidemount setup if needed - $600 (I keep bands/isolator). Will provide rigging in that case. Filled w/ 32% voodoo...
Due to medical reasons, I am permanently done diving (spontaneous lung collapses, for the curious).
As a result, I'm selling everything I have that is reasonably good condition. Most of it is in near-new shape, particularly tech-related gear.
The few instructor items there have some usage...
Hi guys, my cylinder has managed to come loose whilst I was driving and ended up rolling about in the back of my car. As a result of this it has collided with other equipment and has ended up with a small amount of damage to the paintwork. Can anyone advise the best way to tidy this up...
This tank was purchased new in April of 2020 from Dive Right in Scuba in Illinois and hydro tested that day. I used the tank to fill a 3000 psi paintball tank once and it has sat in my closet since. If anyone is interested, I am local to the Chicagoland area would be happy to meet. Send me an...
I recently acquired an oil filled cylinder pressure check gauge so this on is no longer needed. It is from Dive Gear Express (DGX) and currently sells for $48 and I am letting this one go for $30 shipped to a continental USA address. It is less than a year old and is in perfect condition...
