Hi everyone,
I’m looking for the most up-to-date source of M-values for helium. As we know, helium has become increasingly relevant in technical diving and decompression models, and I’d like to stay current with the latest research or publications in this area.
Specifically, I’m interested in...
Recently I have assembled a continious blending system. It runs on MCH6 Comtri 1 phase electrical compressor. I did some measuring and it does 90-100 l/min output. For blending I use LMNT King blender . Now I set both O2 and He limiters to run 2 bar. Adjust the needle valves on King to be output...
Here is a gas blending system for those of you that don’t want to build a permanent station at home. This was my last winter project, when I made a movable continuous blending station for Trimix for my small Coltri compressor.
I want to use a simple rotameter-based system for blending because...
Up for sale is a Hydraulics International Oxygen Booster model 3G-SS-20-O.
This is a great little booster that is perfect for filling rebreather bottles or with enough time, 40 or 80 ft.³ bail out bottles. It can be driven with a home air compressor at 150 psi. 150 Psi drive gas will allow...
Hi, times have changed (esp. in Europe) and purchasing He is for some an issue. Hearing much rumor about it at the local dive sites. I'm curious if DeepAir may have a reconissance - if there is really a problem. Please feel free to post some regional informations.
Thanks for voting,
André
I remember hearing or reading somewhere that diving with Helium can be more dangerous to people with PFOs since it's a lighter and faster gas, so the bubbles can more easily pass to the left atrium.
Has this been proven or is it just speculation? Any research about this?
Thanks
Nitrox and Scuba Gasses - Full Version
I finally put this to video for posterity.
A nitrox workshop plus alpha! Get a full overview of nitrox and all scuba gases and how they are used in scuba and how they relate to each other. An overview of how and why recreational divers vary gas mixes to...
Dear all,
I am starting to think more and more about learning to dive with trimix. Within the following two years, I would like to dedicate a trip of a few weeks to explore the deeper depths. At the moment I'm technical (&) cave certified, and I'm wondering what would be the best place to do my...
Hello guys, recently I picked up a used Sierra Precision Booster with about 200 hours on it and I like to use it to boost Helium, are there anything I must replace such as piston seals and gasket for Helium? Thanks

This is a very rudimentary look at a single aspect of gas planning: the narcotic potential of the breathing medium. Gas narcosis (whether N2, O2, or CO2) impairs divers' cognitive functions, which poses safety concerns.
Understanding/mitigating the risks posed by narcosis is an...
Hey guys,
I want to dive the Hydro more since it is in my backyard. I have only dove it once and considering the cost of helium it really is cost prohibitive to go dive it just for giggles. How many of you guys and gals have done it on nitrox (22%-23%). I really haven't gone deeper than 150...
I received Shearwater Teric as a birthday gift last week so decided to sell my Suunto D9tx. It was purchased brand new in 2015 from local dealer in Atlanta, GA and has been serviced there as well. I have 200+ dives on it and it works flawlessly.
It comes with transmitter, USB cable and...
I'm wondering what hose types people are using for tec diving - helium, blends over 40% oxygen, etc. At the moment I'm using Miflex hoses for Air and Nitrox but it seems these are only rated for up to 40% oxygen. Not interested in length discussions, just materials and brands.
Mark Powell's Deco for Divers was so good, I bought the second edition. I've noticed quite a few updates, but one is not addressed.
In the Trimix section, Helium is stilled called a "fast gas" and that it's smaller modules will go in and out of tissues faster.
Recently, there was a report...
