Hi All,
Does anyone have much experience with these fins in comparison to other fins?
I'm looking for a versatile, powerful fin that travels well and doesn't require boots (have some wetsuit socks, which are fine). Ideally would work with all kick styles, including frog kicks. Fins that could...
Any suggestions on the best option here or that I haven't thought of?
For the case where you will just be a few feet under water 99% of the time and so a BCD would be massive overkill.
All of these prices do not include the actual weights, which in my case must be coated or otherwise sealed...
Hello,
I am looking for a dive skin or wetsuit (1mm) that is in the affordable price range (under $150 but preferably $100 or less) that is neoprene free and environmentally friendly.
Thanks
Hello,
When using an oximeter or a similar device to monitor oxygen levels during freediving, what is the percent/number that you should start to ascend for (ex. do I start ascending at 90% ,80% , etc.?)
I know the precents can vary between beginners and advanced free divers so I want to know...
Hi all,
I'm planning to take the OW and AOW courses soon in Mexico, with the theory session online, it's 4 days only. AOW goes down to 30 meters.
I'm also planning to take freediving class AIDA 2 at the same time, which depth will reach 15 to 20 meters.
I think that I am fine to take the...
Hello friends,
I am totally new to freediving.
My purpose of learning freediving is to
- swim with dolphins with snorkeling masks
- shoot close-up videos/ pictures when snorkeling
Any recommendations on
- good freediving instructors in south east asia area
- amazing freediving spots where I...
Fellow divers and freedivers,
I recently got a Peregrine (wow, I absolutely love what Surface GF is teaching me about diving - thank you for the recommendations!).
Unfortunately, for the first time I encountered a minor issue with it yesterday. I was free diving in the cenotes in Yucatan (in...

Last weekend I witnessed an (unofficial) world record: My friend Emil Lars blowing 90 bubbles with one (!) inhalation. Thanks to Emil and Laura Pearce for the footage, in the video below I explain how it is even possible for humans to control their breathing underwater to such a degree, also...
I made a brief video about the neurobiology of holding your breath. In brief, two regions in the brain stem, the pre-Bötzinger complex and the retinotrapezoid nucleus are mainly responsible for automatic breathing.
The motor cortex and the cerebellum are the regions responsible for willfully...

Looking for recommendations for freediving fins (plastic/fiberglass) for open-ocean scuba diving. I will also use them for freediving, but want some power and efficiency for Socorro. Thoughts?
Hi,
I'm into both scuba and free diving, but at this point I don't do enough of either of them to justify buying one wetsuit for each. I'm trying to find something as polyvalent as possible, meaning a wetsuit that would be flexible enough to allow enjoying freediving but durable and warm enough...

I live in SoCal and am just getting into scuba and freediving. I am trying to get into spearfishing and am just starting to collect all my gear. Is there any suit that can be used for both? Without compromising the durability, warmth, and mobility? The water is generally 10-15 Celsius. I would...
