    Spring 2012, Conditions at Gullivers

Has anyone been there yet this spring? Victoria Day weekend perhaps? Just doing a thorough mask cleaning, everything else serviced and prepped. Thinking we might head over tomorrow. Will bring the usual spring gear, but if anyone knows current water temps and what vis is like, please share. Thanks

Spring is here. Who's going diving?

Spent most of an enjoyable weekend outside. Unfortunately, most of it was doing chores. My BCD and regs are still at the LDS for annual service, although I do have 3 tanks full of air. Plans are starting to be made, with dives planned for the first 2 weekends in May. Who else is diving or...

    Need machining done?

A member of a sailing board I belong to posted this link and I thought I'd pass it along. http://www.emachineshop.com/ Looks promising for fairly low cost custom machining. I downloaded the software, now I just have to figure it out (CAD was never part of my training). Basically you use their...

Who dove on New Years Day?

So did you get wet yesterday? I managed a short dip at Humber (just enough to say I was in). Got just over 30 feet, vis was 3 to 4 feet (my buddy who's just over 6 feet commented after on looking back between his legs and NOT seeing his own fins and water temp was 34F. Great couple of hours...

    Missing post

Who does one ask when a post I made has gone missing for no apparent reason and no PM or email as to why? FWIW the post was in this thread http://www.scubaboard.com/t82300-has_anyone_been_diving_in_the_pei_canada_area.html IF I did something wrong, would appreciate knowing what.

Shore or other low cost dives in Florida?

We're considering a short jaunt South to Florida this winter. Possibly over the Christmas holidays (school age kids). Ginnie Springs has been suggested (maybe recommended would be the better word) as a dive and a place to camp. Would like to get some salt water dives in and could maybe spring...

    Tiller, 1:00pm, Aug 14 anyone?

I just got an email that a dive club has cancelled their 1:00pm Saturday run to the Tiller with Pearl Dive. He needs minimum 6 divers to run, max 8. Anyone interested? I think I've got a buddy lined up. It's $45/diver, 2 tank, about 3 to 3.5 hour round trip. Depart Port Weller at 1:30pm. No...

Spot available for the OFWF charter Aug 28

Our younger diver has been deciding (at the last minute) not to dive lately. Rather than waste his spot and mess up buddy pairs, I'll let his spot go if someone would like it. This is for the boat DivingGal has set up for Sat morning August 28 in Kingston. If you're interested PM me (post here...

    Tiller Wreck

Anyone been on the tiller wreck recently? Wondering about bottom conditions. PM'd OTE about a charter Aug 1, if he's not running at the moment are there any other charter boats doing the Tiller? Would also welcome suggestions for any shore dives in that neck of the woods. Thanks

Big Bay Point on July 1?

We're going to try for Big Bay Point (Barrie) late Thursday. Plan is to arrive around supper time (will post more exact time later today or early tomorrow). Early enough to do one dive while still light out and then stay on for a night dive. I'm informed temps are in the mid 50's and that this...

    Slow loading, system trouble?

Fir the last few days, Scubaboard had become painfully slow. I'm on an aDSL connection and other sites such as Google, Ebay, etc are loading normally. Timing just now, it's taking from 45 to 60 seconds for a page to load. Anyone else finding it slow?

A notice for boaters in the SE US seaboard.

I just ran across this, which might be of interest to anyone boating in the SE US. GPS to Be Jammed . . . But Don't Worry on West Coast June 14 - Southeastern U.S. As part of NATO training exercises on the East Coast, the U.S. military is testing a system for jamming signals from...

    Anyone familiar with Pearl Lake?

Wondering if anyone on here knows Pearl Lake, just north of Hanover? Meant to ask a while back but slipped my mind. I was in an LDS last month and a guy was planning on diving there the coming weekend. He didn't know anything about it, was buddying with someone who did and had dove it. Thanks

    Gilboa May 22/23

Some OFWF are invading Gilboa (very small invasion, we've invited others, but may just beus three) this weekend. If anyone was in last weekend, what are conditions like (in water)? Sherkston May 8

We're planning on diving Sherkston tomorrow. Have a couple of other divers joining us and would enjoy meeting any "freaks" who're interested. To make it simpler, I've a 'map' of the underwater layout. Hope to be there by 11:00am (leaving Kitchenr at 9:00)
