A member of a sailing board I belong to posted this link and I thought I'd pass it along. http://www.emachineshop.com/
Looks promising for fairly low cost custom machining. I downloaded the software, now I just have to figure it out (CAD was never part of my training). Basically you use their CAD software to design the part, the software will quote it for you and if you want you place the order. If anyone here has used them, how were they? Around here, finding a machinist who's even interested in a small job or prototype, is difficult, not to mention costing an arm and a leg.
