    Innerkip - trout lake

The water level has dropped by 3 - 4 feet (up until yesterday's deluge). Viz was very fuzzy but water was warm, indeed.

    Welland Scuba Park Info Please

Yes, but the aerial is somewhat dated. Not sure what the oval is at the base of the launching ramp, though.

    Aquasport Fail

I highly recommend Shulamit's Eilat Diving Adventures. Low key, excellent equipment, great personnel and so much fun to be with. I dove with them in November and had a wonderful experience. Neil

    Diving Near KW?

I agree about Innercrap being just that. HOWEVER, I do recall that at least once or twice in the last 25 years that we had nearly 30 foot viz. :blinking: We normally don't go there until it gets colder and the locals have disappeared into their barns. Not very tasteful types in the summer...

    Diving Near KW?

The closest spots for you to consider would be Innerkip - a k a Trout Lake, Gullivers Lake - Freelton, or head for Humber Bay with crosed fingers. Innerkip is the closest to K-W however. Neil

Any Divers with Tinnitus??(ringing in the ears)

I have had Tinnitus for so long I can't remember when it started. I do know that the ENT doc I went to said I should stop diving. That was also for hearing loss. Actually, I think it was from standing too close to tanks in the Army while they were firing the main gun. My ears still ring...

    Welland Scuba Park Info Please

Glad you guys enjoyed the "park". Lots of neat stuff to find and always a surprise or 2 just "around the corner". Considering how we are losing good sites in southern Ontario due to regulations, etc. lets hope everyone keeps respecting this dive site so we can all enjoy it in the future.

    Welland Scuba Park Info Please

    1. No motorized vessels within the Scuba Park 2. By surface float, do you mean a float w/ flag or just a surface marker? Seeing a dive flag is unusual - most folks just submerge and enjoy unless in a training situation (common occurrence) 3. Viz depends on a number of conditions but last...

How do you clean urine from a wetsuit?

Johnson's Baby shampoo works quite nicely also. Wash and rinse by hand in the stationary tub and then spin dry for a short ride. Worked great yesterday:D

    Viz at Innerkip?

Dove there on Thursday.....viz: +/- 30' horizontal and +/- 20' vertical. Huge bass that look like Grouper! Clouds of Sunfish and Crappies. All in all, a great day (except for the invasion of the local beer guzzlers). I've been diving there for over 25 years and the conditions we had were...

Wisdom 2 plastic face scratch removal

The suggestion to use car cleaner was right on! I have an OLD can of Simonize cleaner/polisher and it was perfect. You have to really search for the marks, now. Thanks, D_B. Neil :D

Wisdom 2 plastic face scratch removal

Thanks very much for the info. The scratches are not interfering with viewing data but it does bother me that it happened since my Wisdom 2 is relatively new. Oh well, stuff happens. Cheers, Neil

Is this a wreck ? Google Maps.

It is the Juno. If you look at the right magnification you can make out the outline of the wreck. It lies several hundred feet off shore. Neil

Is this a wreck ? Google Maps.

That is likely the wreck of the Juno. Interesting shallow dive (+/- 12 feet) with keel and rudder intact as well as part of the prop and the windlass. She faces the shore with the stern to the south. Access is via a path from the road down to the lake. Neil

    Welland and Sherkston Conditions

Ditto on the relaxing part! Yesterday (Sunday 8/30/09) was our first trip to the "park". We were all very impressed. The site is clean and the diving is great. Viz was the same 15-20 feet and bottom temps @30 feet were 74 F. The wreck is exactly 180 degrees from the concrete ramp. VERY easy...
