Trip report: Blue XT Sea Diving/Secrets, Sunscape Sabor

Was a $62 option CUN to Sunscape resort as I booked air on SWA. Best Day has overall favorable reviews. Easy breezy. Should be able to book right from their website or any other travel amalgamator.

April 5-13, SWA DEN-CUN, return Maya Air/Volaris CZM-CUN-GDL-PHX Breezed through airport arrival to a shared van to PDC ferry for what became the easiest bag drag I can recall in all the years coming to the best, easily-accessible and relatively inexpensive diving close to home. My trip report & the photos. (Jan 27-Feb 17)

Great report. What an effort by your dive op. Bummer it only worked a couple more times, but it’s replaceable.

    Tipping guidelines

As a tour guide in a different industry, I see tips as a bonus, but not an unexpected one. It’s part of my anticipated compensation. What are you going to tip on your $120 steak dinner tonight? Every guest deserves the best service. I don’t get to have excuses for a marginal day, neither do...

Am now a little worried about Utila trip please help

Seems our US media is hot on the trail of another hot story- while likely missing key points. Short of the State Department stopping travel, we're all-in with Matt & Corine at Royal Playa Roatan, July 4-12. CK-

Belize "surf and turf" trip advice

Ditto on diving, but I'll add what we found to be one of the coolest experiences ever-- the cave tubing when we stayed at Jaguar Paw. Stunningly beautiful. Could have done it over and over. The digs there are 1st class and way beyond what I ever expected in an excellent jungle setting. Check...

    Questions from the sunny Southwest

Most excellent, and thank you all! "BrandNew," I'm in Albuquerque, but we go yearly to Las Cruces to the Mesilla Valley Balloon Rally. It's always great flying weather the 2nd week of January. Thanks again- and I'll start doing my homework (and contacting a dive shop about learning dry suit) CK-

    Questions from the sunny Southwest

Howdy New England area divers! My wife has just accepted a 2 year contract that will have her in Providence. Her trips back to New Mexico will be less likely than my trips to visit your neck of the woods. Bottom line, other than a great 7mm or better yet, learning dry, what should I expect...

Belize, what a place! (diving's little secret)

TRIP REPORT: After our first trip, I have to say, we LOVED Ambergris Caye, Belize. Actually, we were most impressed with all of what we saw in Belize. Did two dives, post-Dean, pre-Felix, on the 2nd of Sept. (booked through Monkey Business, and I'm very sorry I can't recall the operator)...

Hurricane Divers Unite! - The official September list

Jane and I are just back from Belize, right after Dean, and during Felix's approach and after. Whew! Glad it took a left turn. Very sad for Nicaragua. We were Melia refugees in '05 on COZ. Have fun ya all! Craig-

    Let' Hear from you Cozumel!!!

Talk about prayers being answered, not only did you friends on COZ dodge the bullet, but our friends at Ambergris Caye, BZ report a remarkable outcome for being less than 120 miles from the eye. The people house sitting for them report NO water flooding homes, a few trees and powerlines down...

    Looking good for Cozumel...

NBC has a reporter live at Chetumal, and they say they're staying. I've been listening to thereefradio.com for a live broadcast from San Pedro, Belize, less than 50 miles south of Chetumal. They just said 7 to 8 foot waves (as of just before 6pm Belize time). Our friends who own the San Pedro...
