    Light deco?

I generally use the term limited deco and it is 15 minutes or less of deco. Light deco is an acceptable term for this imo.

Better to safety stop at 10 or 20 if...

He is not saying the reference spoke about safety stops. He is trying to extrapolate deco theory into safety stops. His point is that the static safety stop (15' give or take 5') is not always ideal. You would surface with less nitrogen saturation if you maximized your M factor (maximum super...

OC BACKMOUNT: Use of inverted cylinders with RAID

I rather like side mount, am a side mount instructor even, the thing to think about though, in current, off a boat, it can be quite challenging for some to do. I imagine that is why you don't see it much in Florida outside of caves.

    H2Odyssey Extra Air Source

First, kudos to you. I am a big fan of redundant air supplies, even for recreational divers. In my opinion, which is worth what you paid for it, that extra 6 cuft is a hell of a lot better than nothing. That being said, the smallest I carry is a 30 now a days, although I used to carry a 19...

Meh, once you get past the initial cost, it's not so bad. The returns are certainly worth it!

    Rapture of the deep?

I normally do not get appreciatively narced down to 130. That being said, the last time I dove air in Lake Travis down to 130, I did. I started noticing it at 122 and at 130, I was getting tunneled and had to go back up. Water was relatively warm and this was abnormal for me. Some days are...

    Rapture of the deep?

Yeah, can't always avoid it and do the dive, but when I can throw the helium in, I do! ;)

    Rapture of the deep?

I am not a fan of being narced at all! Pass the helium please.

    Training to be a Newbie...

The main thing that kills CCR divers is that they get complacent. The higher percentage of deaths vs open circuit is rather misleading in my humble opinion. What you must take into account is that divers that are doing CCR dives are generally going beyond recreational limits, going into deco...

I rather enjoy your articles. I actually read this on Facebook the other day. One day I hope to get to the Philippines and give your shop a try.

    First time to 60 feet

I'm going to agree with FinnMom here. Just take it easy and relax, if you are apprehensive, ask a dive master or instructor to do it with you. That's what we're here for. To get you more comfortable and help you be more competent. As far as the pony bottle goes, I personally LOVE pony...

    Solid State O2 Sensor

Will certainly be interesting. Use them on anything critical for a while myself though.

    Hollis TX1 for sale

Yes, I also have the transmitter and if you want both I will sell them both for $400.

    Hollis TX1 for sale

I do. I also have the transmitter for it. It was a replacement about a year ago and only has dives from when I loaned it out on it. I did upgrade it to the latest firmware a couple months ago.
