    octopus in Vancouver

I can't recall a site in BC that I've been to and haven't seen Octo's at. Last dive at Furry creek I think I saw 6. The shallowest was Ogden point at marker 1 in about 10'. He was probably the biggest Octo I've seen too. If he was any less then 15' across I'd be shocked. Smallest one I've...

    Porpoise bay charters

Only been with them on day trips, but would recommend them in a heartbeat. Great service and lots of room on the boats.

    For under those drygloves...

have you tried them? I'm using a pair of microfleece gloves with a cheap pair of thin fleece gloves on top. Both one layer fleece. After an hour in 45 deg. water my fingers are still getting cold. These might be worth a shot though.

    swapping HID for halogen??

I'm using the Greenforce HID100, and couldn't imagine going back to halogen for anything. It's not cheap, but when I dive with friends with 10W HID's, I have to hunt for their light beam, and if they have halogens, it's pointless even looking for it. Some of them just turn their lights off and...

if you can, head out to Tuwanek. A few great dives to do there. Definitely sounds like you'll be heading to coopers though.

Ok, it's been awhile, and I can't find a link on the salvo site. Can someone PM me where to get the kits again?

    Bare Nexgen Manual

and keep the sun exposure to the latex seals to a minimum. UV isn't good for latex. I agree on sending it back for patching. Bare did a great job on mine when it went back and even fixed a bunch of pinholes I didn't know were there.

    Dry suit undergarments.

http://www.otterbaysuits.com/ Send them an email, they'll send you a fax or email of a picture of a hood. Fill out appropriate dimensions and wait. I've heard nothing but great reviews about these guys. Not entirely sure why I haven't ordered one yet.

    wing won't float gear!?

a 35lb wing should be enough for what you're doing. If you're worried about floating the rig on it's own and it's not quite enough, consider wearing less weight on the bc and a small weight belt to compensate. For reference, I'm using a 40lb oxycheq for my twin 120's. I'm not about to take it...

    Dry suit undergarments.

the more I dive, the colder I get. Just not working as hard anymore. A 400W DUI and I'm still getting chilled. Next is an otterbay wetuit 10mm hood :D

    Local Vancouver conditions

Henry, you and your KISS. Not fair. All in good time, I'll be tagging along on those dives too. For now, I'll keep heaving the twins. I'm trying to get in on the Mackenzie trip, but lifes been hectic recently and I need to see if I can swing it. Will be calling to confirm. The dive shop is...

Has anyone tried the new UK C8 eLed PLUS?!

having a backup bulb is a good idea, but if your batteries die, or the light floods, you still need a backup. This is of course assuming you're doing dives where you actually "need" a light. Dive with some buddies and see what kind of lights they're using. Generally if you're diving in darker...

    VT100 conditions

I wouldn't recommend the crabs off wrecks. Talked to someone awhile back that collected some off a wreck and when eating them, they tasted like rusty metal. Haven't been to the VT100 in awhile now, but I've been out there and literally had to push the jellies out of the way to see where I was...

Has anyone tried the new UK C8 eLed PLUS?!

I'm going with the greenforce so I know I have something reliable. I have seen and heard enough about these lights to realize the reliability of them. 30W HID should be plenty of light :D I think the D8 is brighter as I've dove with lots of people with light cannon's. The only thing I like...

Has anyone tried the new UK C8 eLed PLUS?!

Hey jeckyll, I noticed in your profile it says saving for a can light. Why buy the LED that's just gonna sit on the shelf once you get a can light? I've been diving a D8 for a few years now, and the canlight is sitting at the shop until I go pick it up. As far as the light cannon is...
