Curious why El Galleon? I've looked at their rooms and they are kind of depressing. Mermaid resort is very nice for the money. If you want upscale ($150) then definitely go to La Lagunna villas as they are right by Asia divers. For the ferry crossing it doesnt matter which one, go inside...
I am planning a short trip to Cairns following a longer trip from the Philippines. I will have 2 days to dive. Obviously, I want to dive the 'best' the reef has to offer. Is
there really a difference between the dive sites visited on liveaboards compared to where you can go on a day trip...
I have a PT-EP11 housing, flat port (works with 60mm macro) and Zen WA-100-EP Dome port. Included are dual tray handles. All in good condition and recently used. Make offer.
I would check out Blue Bay. There are many Airbnb's around the golf course along with a large variety of Condo's and hotels. The beach there is a fantastic 'house' reef and the they have 24 hour tanks available so you can bring them to other sites (although now a days all the most popular...
I've been to St Maarten on several dedicated dive trips with my own equipment. Always enjoyed the diving. The reefs and wrecks are short boat rides away and the island has a lot to offer between dives including nice beaches. It's also a short ferry or plane out to Saba for even 'better' diving.
"After 3 days of boat diving, they shut the island down"
Wow, can't believe you guys did ANY boat diving. With one or 2 exceptions this is a shore diving place. Glad to know they still allowed tank rentals during the lock down. I assumed with the beaches closed, the dive shops would be too.
Ok, so it looks like there are 3 major dive operators from Barrio Barreto. I will look at these. So Coron surely has some better wrecks but for us, the convenience of traveling to Subic is big with our limited time. For those who have dove both areas, is Subic still a decent dive...
We are looking into a trip here in April/May and are trying to understand the geography and best places to stay. Is there any specific areas to stay for best access to the wrecks? The bay looks large and the hotels seem spread out all over the place. Ideally, we would like to stay in a place...
Thanks for the replies. I emailed them and confirmed that they in fact leave only from Elizabeths hideaway resort in sandbar. It looks like half way between Sabang and White Beach, so not too far. Could probably take a boat there from Sabang (I'm staying at La Laguna resort and they have a...
Anybody do this? Checking their website, I see a flight for about $100 which includes 22lbs of baggage. If we have 50lbs of gear it would be another $56. Interested if someone has done this, can they pick you up in Sabang or do you have to go Puerto Galera town to depart? Seems like a...
Hi, looking for hotels for upcoming August trip. I am interested in Out of the Blue and I see you have stayed there before. I believe it is right next door to La Laguna Villas which I stayed at last year. While I loved that place, my room was 92 steps up and that got really annoying after a...
I was in Sabang last April, I took about $200 cash with me for emergencies or when I cant get to an ATM. At the airport in Manila, take out enough pesos
to last a few days. Walk next door to the money exchange booths and exchange about $100 to small bills. They will come in handy for the...
So we've already purchased are plane tickets and plan to head to PG end of August for around 10 days. We are just now realizing this is typhoon and rainy season. We have limited windows of vacation dates so this was when we could all agree on. Now we are nervous and are looking into the cost...
