Indeed it has 27 pounds of lift. You won't find that in the manufacturer's specs, but you will find it on the tag of my bcd.quick google brings me to a claim that your old bcd has 34 lbs of lift, guessing that's false since you made a point of it? and just to be clear, can you spell out the implication of this? would you ask for a measured lift value if i was selling a diverite wing that they claim has 30 lbs of lift?
and as an aside since we're getting into it:
1. there are very few people who the specific weight of a steel backplate matter to, none of them are total beginners that dive in a 5mm wetsuit. please don't try to make the argument that it actually matters to a beginner (or the majority of divers) whether it is 5 lbs or 6 lbs, i can't take that seriously.
2. you really think asking me whether it will fit a 5'8" 170lb male is a good question? to me that just indicates a person who is 50% likely to screw up the webbing setup and then complain
Diving is loaded with equipment that has all kinds of idiosyncrasies and a little bit of patience with new folks goes a long way. Some things that seem obvious to you as an experienced diver will be confusing to someone without much experience. They might buy it and screw it up and complain- or they might buy it and say "hey I am a little confused about how to adjust this- would you mind answering a couple of questions for me?" Sometimes even a small bit of willingness to share knowledge makes the world a better place for everyone, and especially you can find gratification in sharing the benefit of your wisdom and experience in diving with someone who has the fresh excitement and passion for it but needs to fill in the gaps in their understanding.
