less than 10 dives on this, in freshwater. I bought it for diving dry in arizona lakes but then almost immediately moved to Florida.

Since I'm always diving with my personal steel tanks and not much neoprene, a light plate is better for me here.

I didn't fully trim the harness webbing, there's a fair amount extra still left if you're bigger than me. Happy to get into more details via PM.

There are a couple of generic trim pouches on the upper cam band, happy to leave those there.

Asking $450 + shipping cost, or pick up in Fort Lauderdale

Hello, is this item still available?
Can you send me a DM for further discussion?

I'm new therefore I can not send DM to you yet.
Thank you very much!

Can you tell me how much the steel plate weighs? Also, would this fit a 5'8" 170lb male?

I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way, but i only want to sell to someone who knows what it is and knows they want it. a few hundred bucks isn't worth it to me if there were to be some sort of issue.

Don't worry, friend. I moved on. And that you couldn't even answer the questions (different brands/models have different weights, and I wanted to match my weights accordingly), I'm glad to not have done business with you.

@deansrv72 A simple googe search can answer both of your questions. XDEEP's website lists the weight and has a guide as to what the steel plate size would fit.

I believe that poster was interested in potentially getting his first bpw setup and was asking various questions on other threads. more power to him, and i hope it goes well - just that i'm not a store or an instructor so prefer to avoid any sort of situation where someone might buy it but then have trouble diving it and be dissatisfied.

I'm afraid this isn't true. Let's play a game. I have this particular BCD- my very first before I went to a BP/W:

Mine is the size XL/2XL. Can you tell me the lift? I'll bet that you can't. This is why it's a reasonable question. I do understand the seller's point of view, but at the same time if you are selling something it's probably a good idea to be willing to answer some basic questions.

A system that is modular like a BP/W might not be 100% original- the owner could have changed something or had the retailer modify a configuration. Even on a system that is "factory made" and not modular, sometimes the manufacturer specs as published do not match the reality.

quick google brings me to a claim that your old bcd has 34 lbs of lift, guessing that's false since you made a point of it? and just to be clear, can you spell out the implication of this? would you ask for a measured lift value if i was selling a diverite wing that they claim has 30 lbs of lift?

and as an aside since we're getting into it:
1. there are very few people who the specific weight of a steel backplate matter to, none of them are total beginners that dive in a 5mm wetsuit. please don't try to make the argument that it actually matters to a beginner (or the majority of divers) whether it is 5 lbs or 6 lbs, i can't take that seriously.

2. you really think asking me whether it will fit a 5'8" 170lb male is a good question? to me that just indicates a person who is 50% likely to screw up the webbing setup and then complain
