And there is always the possibility of the elusive (for me) native seahorse. Yet to see on but have heard reports from others who have. I will likely dive our local lake this weekend. Heading to Ft W end of August.

I have seen seahorses on three separate occasions in Ft Wetherhill, but always in very shallow water, on a rock covered with fluffy type seaweed and tiny snail crustaceans and with pipefish in the vicinity. Once I was photographing a pipefish when a seahorse wandered into the frame.

I did not see a Seahorse this morning after three hours snorkleing and searching. I did lose my line cutter, but no seahorse and no tropicals today. Maybe next weekend!

Went diving today. We hit the water around 2:30 to take advantage of low tide visibility, and it paid off wonderfully! In most places it was 15-20’, and, in some of those places, clear! I was in 17’ of water watching the sunlight play off of the bottom. Almost like being in Bonaire (not really, but we can pretend).

We didn’t see any seahorses or tropicals, but the salps were out in mass! I have never seen so many there. Also, along the west wall, there was some type of egg, or smal juvenile, floating in the water column. They were so thick that it dropped vis. They were pooling in any recessed areas, as well, and would fill them completely. Would love to find out what they were.

Otherwise, a nice 68 minute dive, 23 fsw, 69 degrees at depth.

Apparently a movie production crew took over Ft Wetherhill parking lot for a few days, don’t know when they finish the filming.
