EDIT: Here's a complete trim fanatic making the same point I am.
Good point and video. But there's got to be a better way to describe Mr. Schlöffel's insistence on good trim. People might take it the wrong way  [Moderator's have made an edit]

Is that the video where he says "eat a spoonful of concrete and harden the F up"? It might have been another video but the line is classic.

The dude in the video is making a pretty good point. It amazes me that people some really think trim is a gear issue.
Having said that, maybe the dude in the video just doesn't know what proper trim is. :D

It was another video. Below is the link:

I'd love to dive with Achim in the tropics and give him a shorty, cheap single strap BCD, crappy fins, an HP117 and film it. LOL. I'd be yelling at him "Eat some concrete! Harden the F up!" LOL

Thanks for the link. Just watched the first few minutes. Sounds like he met wetb4igetinthewater on vacation. :rofl3: Just kidding boys.

The dude is right though, weight of the fins, shorty or full suit, bp/wing or poodle jackted does not matter at all. Exactly as I tried to explain. He calls it 'body tention' in the video. It's a skill. Great way to describe it.

Great find, everybody should watch that video!

Lol. Some people dive steel tanks in board shorts or shorties in Egypt during the summer. Trimming out is no problem... I'm sure the dude in the video could do it too.

Hp100 and board shorts for me in in warm ocean = Plombo? No mas por favor, gracias.

When center of mass and center of buoyancy are the same weight distribution is correct and trim is effortless.

Yes, skilled divers can trim out when center of mass and center of buoyancy do not match by tweaking their position or breathing pattern.

The question is why can't one set up their gear such that the weight distribution is correct and trim is effortless?

Why would I want to tweak my position or alter my natural breathing pattern?
