I wear both of the above shoes, either one or the other.
Speaking of vivobarefoot. The Ultra, their croc alternative,
These are my 'go to', even to the gym [except leg day, I wear Xero Barefoot shoes].
If we are looking at pre and post dive, then I'm wearing one of the multitude of Amazon cheap Chinese minimalist sneakers with strange names such as these Oranginers.

If I wear them every day, I get around 4 months out of a pair before I wear through them. But that's also how long $150 minimalist shoes like vivobarefoots used to last me before I switched to these $35 versions.

Speaking of vivobarefoot. The Ultra, their croc alternative, is really nice. Way less chunky and more secure than crocs but still foam so light, airy and comfortable. The drawbacks are that they are expensive and often unavailable.

Edit: but don't wear them on a beach. Sand pours in through the holes and can't get out so you immediately end up with 5mm of sand between your foot and the footbed.

My footwear brother! Are the prices any more reasonable at the other end of the world? Come to think of it, I've actually purchased some kids shoes they didn't sell in the US from VIVOBAREFOOT | Original Barefoot Shoes | ShoesVB in Victoria.

Here's one of my last Ultra's. Patched with shoe goo and bandage tape where I've worn almost through the sole :)

I also wear Xero's as my winter shoes (which is why they are salt stained). My problem is they don't have enough internal volume for my feet. First the straps on the back popped off and then I ripped through the stitching that connects the sole with the upper (on both sides).

Ha ha, no, they are not, as you said above, at the end of the season they change models and drop their prices , this year only the colours changed, my wife bought a green pair last year [not my style] for a good price.☑️

3 things you should not skimp on, foot wear, a good bed mattress and SCUBA regulators, at some point I am using one or the other.

Croc charms also fit the holes on jet fins.

You can totally skimp on scuba regulators, even the "cheap" ones are generally more than good enough to be safe and effective for most things. :stirpot: Seriously though, the "expensive" ones have very rapidly diminishing returns vs. price. I'm not talking about the bottom of the barrel no-name chinese stuff, but something from Deep6 will be as good or better than whatever premium reg you can spend $2000 on.

Reef Fanning sandals... you'll always be able to pop the top on that cold Sol

Off topic, back to foot wear soon, If I could buy Deep6 here I would try them , I do buy well known regulators here cheaper than you guys in the US [once I do the exchange rate] ,as an example a new Mk19 here is $213 US, and I can buy service parts.

Crocs for the transition from streetwear to drysuit. Put the drysuit undergarments on, put the puffy drysuit socks on, and then slip on the oversized Crocs for moving about until I'm ready to don the drysuit.
(You or chilly need to change your avatar - I see your posts and assume it's her or vice versa!!)

My go-to's were Tevas until the velcro wore out. I bought a pair of Chaco's because they're 'all the rage' and don't like the way they fit. I don't like the look of Croc's and after reading about feet sliding inside I think I'll start looking for another pair of Teva's. They pack small, dry fast and are lightweight. I love my Skecher flip-flops, but not for getting on/off boats. Keene's are too heavy and they trap sand and rocks inside - and that's painful for little Miss tenderfoot.
