I can’t imagine there are people who haven’t had Covid. Certainty asymptomatic but likely numerous times over, especially in a hospital.

Maybe. It was a 3 day cold for me. The actual cold I had this year was worse.

But are asymptomatic unvaxx'd people keeling over dead? We're just not seeing that in my area. We're losing fully vaxx'd people, mostly. Often just days after a booster.

I breathed a huge sigh of relief, when my neice was born ok, this year.

Perhaps a med form should ask if you were admitted to a hospital in 19,20, or 21?

So after reading through this entire thread..... one question might be....... How many folks here think it's OK to lie on any operators medical release form if that's what it takes to get you what you want....which is to allow you continue your trip and dive?

To be completely honest, if I was half-way across the world on the trip of a lifetime, and this was "sprung" on me...... I'd probably fill in the form with whatever answers allowed me to dive. Just say'n.

You and 99% of other divers too.

Similarly if you were facing the hassle of finding a dive doctor, booking the appointment, travelling to said appointment, paying $£€¥, all so someone can CTA and tick/check a box...

I can't remember the last time I was able to dive somewhere without providing some sort of medical statement...sometimes oral, sometimes check a box that I have no problems they should be aware of, sometimes a copy of the RSTC form, sometimes their own form. Their dive operation, their rules. I don't mind it so long as I know in advance.

A few years ago we had a group arrive at a dive boat in the Maldives and when we boarded they handed us an RSTC form and said fill it out and sign it. We huddled as a group, talked it over, and we all handed in total lies....No to everything, no signature by a Doctor needed by anyone. We had no alternative. After the trip, the outfit marketing that boat got an uncensored piece of my mind...and that boat is no longer one of their fleet.
I totally agree with this and would have done exactly the same thing...

According to some people, if you've had the jabs then you're more likely to keel over from some vaccine related heart problems.

There is no mechanism by which the vaccine does something that Covid does not *also* do, but worse. So if those "some people" are worried about the vaccine, they should be terrified of Covid itself.

And the cardiovascular deaths in question are happening within a year or so after known Covid infection, they do not happen in the acute phase of the infection. Theory is that it is due to the damage the infection causes, even in asymptomatic cases. As I said they are still doing research. But given the way places play CYA, I wouldn't be surprised if it pops up based on preliminary studies/data. Either that or they'll just assume everyone is at higher risk and adjust policies for everyone accordingly.

(Personally, I'd be at least asking if any dive op had an AED they were trained to use, if I'd been racking up Covid infections.)

COVID-19 has been associated with higher higher risk of myocarditis than the vaccines.

This, unfortunately, is not entirely true.

While myocarditis from acute infection is more common in the elderly than myocarditis caused by mRNA vaccination, that is not the case for young men.

mRNA vaccination of boys 12-40 years old (and in particular around 16-24) are at a much greater risk of myocarditis from the jab than from Covid infection.

Hi, I have been diving for quite some time. I did provide medical forms when taking classes and certifications. For the first time a dive op we will be diving with in Cozumel would like a medical form. I will provide it, just never come across it before. Is this unique?
I think you will unfortunately start seeing it more. My new underwriter requires it and the waiver to be filled out and signed prior to boarding. They are on my website if you want to browse. They are long and annoying, but I don't get a choice in the matter.

How old can the medical form be?

If I need to schedule a Dr. visit more often than a damn Vis on my tanks, I'd rather just not dive with that op.

The medical form is clearly useless, judging by the trainwrecks Im diving with. Perfectly healthy people shouldnt have to jump through these hoops. And really, its none of your buisness.

There's a shop near me that only requires the medical form,
"If you checked yes" to anything on the waiver. So they'll be getting my buisness for further training. Not the shops that insist on a doctors note less than a year old. Ill be avoiding them for training.
