I dive a Triton (air diluent so far, hoping to go Trimix this year, have enough hours, just lacked time last year) , MCCR, chest mount, made in France. As it an MCCR, I don't have to worry about the solenoid, I can service any o-ring myself, and my unit is not due yet to have service at the manufacturer.

Hope it helped, but may I ask what's your purpose in asking that question ?

I do plan on moving to Greece in the future. Now I know I may need support outside of Greece, but I'd like to keep it within the EU.

I see, gathering info before moving. Good luck with your plan.

I'm also diving the Triton. Super simple so any service I'll do myself. All parts are available to buy directly from M3S. The only downside is that shipping is a bit expensive.

Hmm and what is it that you mean by "support infrastructure"? We do have O2/HE, sorb is cheap as chips (in comparison to US) and there is quite a few rebreather manufacturers based in Europe, in addition to plethora of shops with bits and bobs (being EU, you can order from wherever, no extra taxes/customs, other than varying VAT rates + delivery; though sometimes they might be harder to find, due to websites not being well done, not indexed high in search engines or no english version available, only catering to locals) . Sadly Narked@90 is now outside the zone...
Also make sure to leave your cylinders at home, no CE, no fill ;]

still diving my old trusted Inspiration, and AP has set up a shop inside the EU to make things easier
That's one unit I'm considering long term for the CO2 sensor that saved the life of a friend of mine once (yeah, yeah, I know many people consider that a useless feature).

Has anyone actually died from a CO2 hit? I've experienced it before on a CCR and I would not consider it as a life-threatening accident. It was a possible failure mode that I was trained for, recognized the symptoms, got off the loop, and ended the dive. Swapped out my scrubber and did another dive a couple hours later.

I think we find out the cause of deaths quite rarely. Again, while an incident of 1 is not statistically significant, the fact is errors can be made. While it is important to adhere to pre dive checks stringently 100% of the time, people do make mistakes. I do not consider myself above making mistakes. I know people will scoff at this, particularly my "fans" on SB, but that's a separate discussion.

I mean training/servicing. Not worried about gasses or sorb. I'll have my own dive center, and I will have trimix available for rebreather divers only. It is a waste of money for OC, and being on an island, the logistical complexity of getting gas makes me have that hard rule. I know some people won't like it. They can go down the street.
