A year ago I upgraded to the Hero 10 and I did finally get it to work, but it was quirky, it is still difficult to down load to my computer, but overall it seems OK.

I would be very interested in opinions from people who have used the 10 and now have the 11? Is the upgrade worth it for diving videos?

Offtopic, but how is it difficult to download to a computer? Just get a decent usb (c) micro sd card reader, works every time.

I doubt it would be worth upgrading from a 10. Mine arrived yesterday and first dives with it are today

I haven't seen any diver reviews but the couple of topside reviews have been that it's probably not worth it to a Hero10 user, maybe not to a Hero9, but surely for anything earlier. There are minimal changes in video, just a few new views and framerate, and an additional sensor to give more bits for those who post-process. Photos have a lot more pixels now. Horizon lock and slightly better stabilization but I haven't found that to carry over as well underwater.

I'm not positive but I think it's the same footprint and all the Hero10 accessories will fit. There is a new Enduro battery that is supposed to last longer and be better in cold. Gopro says it is for Hero10 too, that's why I think all your accessories will carry over.

Mine is coming tomorrow. Can't wait to take vids at Tiger Beach in a couple of weeks. That is assuming, of course, I figure out how to use the little bugger by then.

From the 7 black. What editing software do you use? I never really got into using the 7 very much so I know nothing about editing.

I just did the same. For the consumer level of use, the 10 was a good upgrade.
What does the 11 offer over the 10?
The GoPro software was a decent, simple, basic editing that worked good enough to get the clips out that I wanted. They discontinued it and moved everything to "the cloud" that takes a yearly subscription. I ended up getting Movavi to do my editing.

10 bit HDR video, which you can use to either make HDR video, or use it so you have better quality when you output 8 bit SDR video.

Mine is being delivered today. Unfortunately I won't be able to get to Ginnie until Monday due to work. But I will be doing a video dive then to play with it.

Remove the micro SD card and put it into a micro-adapter and then your computer...

I don't bother with any of that with my 10 though. Go pro subscription auto uploads everything uncompressed to their cloud when I plug it in. No need to remove the battery for charging or the SD card. It backs everything new up to the cloud and then you have access via their ap on your phone or their website. I normally plug mine in while I'm rinsing gear once I get home. By the time I'm done most of my dive is viewable and I can then pull stills out and edit if desired.
