Folks, you can do a proper weight distribution in any BC, given the ability to distribute weight. That is high enough trim pockets. And, separately, some BCs of all types are crappy. That is not the point.

How would you set up rental gear, weights and dive plan so your guided divers, who know about balanced distributions, have a balanced weight distribution?

Why do you call yourself cattle, is this respectful of you or me or them
Do you fart a lot or moo or eat with your family, out of a common tub

I don't call myself cattle. Or cow. Or bull. Or whatever. I call the boat a "cattle boat". I have no idea what the etymology of the term is. I learned it from a dive buddy 15 years ago. I thought that is was more commonly understood term.

Well then your "cattle boat" must carry timber, or vegetables to market, and not divers

You do this mate, pull their bc apart and fill the bakpak with shot

then dive like a super star

and remember that anyone that can jump into the ocean, disappear for an hour
and then climb that ladder, back into the boat carrying thirty or forty kg of gear
far beyond the realms of most mortal men, is also someone that is, a super star

And if they disturb the sand or the critters within or heavens above touch something
It is minuscule compared to the havoc and destruction that the next storm will bring

Honestly, I have no idea what point you are trying to make.

Can a diver configure themselves to be in proper horizontal trim using a a jacket BC? Yes. That is the example I have been giving for the past few posts - a new diver I was with on a cattle boat. She was wearing a jacket BC and she seemed like a perfectly good diver for someone with her experience.
BP/W has nothing to do with that!!! Too simple for you to appreciate?
She was well trained. Period.
Could you do that in the beginning of your diving career?

I could, pretty much from dive one, with no training

Or, most people are not that pedantic.

But it is his thread. I think his point was, keep the discussion focused on what he was asking about.
