The double-enders are on the top D-rings just as normal. The lower D-ring has the backup torch connected to it (so that doesn't pull down the top D-ring) and also the bungee retaining loop (meaning the bungee doesn't loose itself). The bungees have tails on them (a bit of whipping twine) and the knots allow you to adjust the length. The rubber rings are for the wing inflate and the Revo injection block (needed to be a little higher).

OMG, you defiled Blue H webbing with more than one D ring per side? :D

Yep. Didn't feel in the least bit dirty either.

One of the issues with some of the DIR dogma is they can never experience the nirvana of sidemount. Nor can they adapt the kit to suit your personal diving needs.

And note the Scubapro shoulder straps. Much easier to lug the heavy kit around in a T-shirt and helps to keep the shape of the harness when kitting up.

Now the memories of Fun-dies comes flooding back

Seems like it's "you can't go wrong with either" but also a unanimous vote for the xDeep. For those US-based, don't you have issues/difficulties with getting xDeep stuff serviced or finding spare parts for? From what I understand they only recently started selling their stuff here? I found only one place online here that sells it..

argh, it also doesn't help that the Hollis is $150 less expensive!

If I didn't already have the Xdeep, I'd take a hard look at the Katana 2 as it apparently (as I haven't used it myself) some improvements over the Xdeep.

There's no real spares required TBH. All the clippy metal bits are standard. Maybe the inflator or wing could go, but no particular issues as it's pretty well made.

It looks like we have some mutual friends on FB, would you mind if I FB msg'd you?
