Sent my 5mm TherMAXX to Henderson for a zipper replacement, under warranty. They estimated a three- week turnaround, plus shipping to me in California. I have a trip to Coz planned for early September, so I thought this could work. When I called today to get an update they informed me they were not simply replacing the zipper, but the entire wetsuit, but there was a delay because of a supply back order of “neoprene”, or whatever Henderson is calling it these days. I then asked if I might simply trade out for a new one from my LDS, if they had one in my size in stock. They were going to get back to me on that…In the meantime I have ordered a new replacement suit for my Mexico trip, while Henderson decides what to do with me.

What is your question or statement you are trying to make here?
A comment posted on the exposure suit board regarding my recent experience with Henderson, and their back orders on repairs because of a supply issue.

There have been other people reporting severe back orders on anything neoprene. It's to do with restricted manufacturing capacity due to covid and the worldwide supply chain meltdown.
This. I was waffling between two suits for an upcoming trip in Dec and reading a couple posts about the neoprene shortage cured me of my indecision real quick. I grabbed one of the two I was thinking about while it was still in stock in my size. I bet that's the reason for the delay at Henderson.

It's been all over the news. I'm still astonished by the number of people who attribute all sorts of evil and incompetence in such situations when it's the supply chain meltdown. I deal all day at work with people asking me "Where's my container?" They don't like it when you tell them the ship's at anchor off Long Beach and you have NO idea when it's going to get into a berth, after being delayed for 2-3 weeks. But they deal with it

I ordered a couple of pieces of lawn equipment a month or so ago. Last time I checked the ETA on one of them was about 12-16 more weeks. The other one I was told "not to expect until after the first of the year". I also ordered a new primary light and a replacement battery pack for our AED - no ETA on either due to battery shortage.

I guess the moral of the story is if you think you might need something in the near future you need to be proactive about it or roll the dice and take whatever you can find at whatever price if it becomes an immediate need.

It may be “all over the news”, but it was NEWS to me, and perhaps others not as clued-in as you. Thus my comment…

Lockdowns have ramifications, like ripples on a lake.
