i am using an apeks aluminum plate, apeks wing and apeks STA. everything is apeks even the cam bands

when i put the screws in to the holes and have everything lined up the sta pushing against the top inner section of the wing where the zipper is pretty hard. i mean its a reallllyy tight fit. i would hate for even the zipper to get messed up.

i tried it without the STA and when i line up everything with the hole that my web harness lines up with but the cam bands slots on the wing don't line up perfectly so when try to pass the cam bands through i have to literally force them through

guess im rethreading the harness in attempts to get the holes to line up before i go about making these cam slots bigger or cutting a piece of the sta off
 
sorry if im making this harder than it actually is. i mean its a full apeks top dollar system, would think in ANY configuration you use that there shouldn’t be any fitment issues.
 
Put just one thick washer between the top of the STA and the wing.
Do not do anything with the original plate because it might affect its resellable value.
 
i rethreaded the harness so that was im utilizing the bottom of the three holes. before i had it going through the middle hole. when i did a dry fit everything seems to line up better. almost done threading ( man it isn't hard but its just annoying )
either way im not worried about resale value. plus no one will ever know i modified the plate unless someone was to take measurements. i have the proper tooling at my job to even make my own plate. i honestly didn't because to buy the raw aluminum material and the cost of the corrosion prevention material. plus paying my coworker to make a program layout for the cnc machine to follow and then paying another coworker to hydrodip or anodize it would have costed me just as much as buying it from the manufacture. if i was to mass produce them then it would we worth the trouble. but even then the profit margins are slim, even worse with the rising cost of fabrication material.

so i rethreated the harness to the bottom hole. everything lines up now time to get it wet so i can do the final adjustments. it feels great to have it almost done.

Just one comment:
Would it be better just to screw in the transmitter instead of using a short hose?
 
i had it that way. but unfortunately the way the first stage is designed it was a tight fit against one of the regulator hose.
and also i witnessed a transmitter get damage on a wreck dive when the guy in front me was a bit to high going through a bulkhead and the first stage / transmitter hit the top of the opening . luckily it didnt cause a leak but a $300 replacement cost. it honestly doesnt bother me at all. dont realize it . if someone was to mistakenly grab it, it has play . i dive new dive boats all the time and also private boats that arent configured for divers gettin on full gear and i have to take off my gear in the water and pass it up. so in both those cases you just never know if the person grabbing will know where to grab

How about turning the 1st stage upside down assuming there are also TWO LP ports to the right? In the case both the HP ports are pointing slightly angled downward.
 
that is actually my plan to do so. i was just trying it out the way it is in the picture because it was suggested to me by a fellow short diver to avoid my head. but it didnt really make a different for my. but i like it better with the first stage pointing up because my hoses sit more streamline.
