Reading through a lot of BOV discussions, the use of connectors and use of on-board / off-board supply etc. made me wonder about how to feed a dry suit and BOV if one is to feed both from the bailout or off-board supply if you only carry one additional cylinder. I've seen arguments to support DS inflation from the right and BOV from the left bailout and there are the anti on-board use brigade for various reasons as well.
So as someone who has never dived a rebreather in water cold enough to warrant a DS but planning on a trip in cold waters with the addition of a BOV, how would you go about the configuration.............. asking for a friend............

I carry a small, separate bottle for drysuit inflation. A lot of that has to do with the fact that my Dil and my deep bailout are usually pretty high in helium, but I personally like having a separate supply.

too many variables.
Do you now or do you ever plan to use trimix?
What type of unit and BOV are you using?
What configuration is your diluent and bailout in now?

I don't use small dil bottles, but I do have different configurations for my rebreathers based on how my dilout or bailuent bottles are rigged. Need to know more about your configuration to make recommendations.

Separate bottle. Running BOV from onboard and/or running dil suit and wing gas from onboard 3L is lame. I also avoid running richer-than-air suitgas, especially with heat.

It depends on several factors, but for deep cold water wreck diving, my bailout is also my diluent. My onboard diluent bottle is full of air and feeds my suit and my wing. There is a shut off valve separating the sides, I can fill or breath anything from any source should the need arise.

is that a good idea having both buoyancy devices from the same source (wing and suit)

You mean like all recreational dives? It will probably be fine.
If not, you open the valve and inflate from another source. Or plug in to either bailout bottle.

Wreck diving:
BOV from AL80 offboard
Dil/ADV, and wing from onboard dil bottle
DS from separate bottle of air

Cave diving:
BOV from offboard
Wing and ADV from offboard
DS from onboard 'dil' bottle converted to air and DS reg

it's fine so long as you have the ability to get gas from somewhere else if something goes sideways
Its not fine sinking like a rock over 100m of water because you started to descend and discover your combined wing and suit gas suddenly isnt working. This is no different than OC tech diving where 2 separate posts are used for wing and DS. Unless you have a friendly cave floor to splat into, split your wing and DS feeds in CCR too.
