6 F (-16 F wind chill) at DFW, DFW morning flights cancelled and pretty much shutdown. Between record demand, generation failures (a lot of wind turbine blades iced an gas running short) and transmission equipment failures we have rolling blackouts spread across Texas.

Go wind power, what could go wrong
Does that northern Fort Worth boil-water notice affect you directly?

No I am in Denton County 6 miles due north of DFW water is fine here. A couple blocks over about a 1/2 square mile have had their power since this morning as it appears their sub station failed. Daughter in Denton lost power for most of the day, luckily it was restored at dusk. Have her children staying here plus a neighbor kid from three blocks over. Going to be a tough night for a lot of folks

Just got power back after 2 days off. That sucked, a lot.

Cozumel in 3 weeks!

ERCOT is 100% to blame for this. Once things get back to normal, the press will start digging and expose the unbelievable incompetence of ERCOT during the last 2 weeks and especially Sunday night.

Coldest record for Texas was -7 in 1899..DandyDon remembers.

Good luck folks.

2/12/1899: Arctic cold stiffens Tulia
On this day in 1899, Tulia, Texas, reported the coldest temperature ever recorded in the state--minus 23 degrees Fahrenheit.

We had several nights this week below -7° in several locations.
