I happen to love winter and cold weather. AND cold water. I don’t tolerate heat and humidity well at all. Then there are my beloved Great Lakes wrecks.
A possibility for Florida springs and quite a few Gulf of Mex. wrecks is the panhandle, where we often have "snowbirded". Condo prices cost for a month in winter what they cost for a week starting in April. Jan.-Feb. weather is relatively comparable to our May in NS, maybe even cooler that yours in Aug. Gulf temps. in Jan./Feb. average about 57F, up to 65 in mid March.

Why stay in the north? Come down to Florida. You can dive year round in the springs in 72 degF water. For wrecks and deep diving you've got the Atlantic ocean. And best of all, no snow or ice to contend with on the roads. Hurricanes, sure. Jut don't live on the coast. Also, no state income taxes!

I love Florida weather....... November through February other than that WAY, WAY, WAY to hot and humid.

@Marie13 good to hear you are still diving. Your knees are worse than mine i believe.

I'm getting better with regular laps in the pool now that its reopen.

I actually prefer the bike. More intense workout and better for my upper leg muscles.

I hate sweating, doesn't happen in the pool.

Bike is easier, IMO. In and out of the gym in workout clothes, especially now that I often go on my lunch hour. My gym still really frowns on people in the locker room, so I totally avoid that issue.

Locker rooms here are totally closed.

Bathrooms are in the locker room so they’ve left them open here.

Well Seattle might be another option. Just not as well preserved wrecks, except in Lake Washington, But poor viz. Neah Bay is freaking amazing.

I'm pretty sure that if it wasn't for sidemount, I'd have to give up on technical diving earlier, as eventually my body isn't going to be able to handle cold water diving. The injuries I sustained from extreme skiing are slowly creeping up on me.

Haha! I’m only moving if the cost of living works out to be the same or less. Chicago area is bad enough, but Seattle? You slay me! :rofl3:

I wouldn't recommend living inside Seattle. If you can work remotely, it is not expensive to live on the Kitsap or Olympic peninsulas, unless you want beachfront property. And there is great diving to be had. You avoid a lot of traffic that way. Food for thought.
