I’ve been in this situation. My SPG came off 45 minutes into a dive. My buddy ignored my OOG signal, but signalled he wanted 2 more minutes before surfacing. I reached over and took his AIR2. Now I had his buoyancy controls and we were going up. We did a deco stop before hitting the surface where the boat was waiting. They knew there was an issue because the sea had erupted from my leaking hose. Before my next dive I had replaced my AIR2.
If your SPG came off you had at least 20 minutes (with a full tank) before you were OOG. What's the hurry?
And why did you replace your AIR2? It is a fine system for you, just not to give to someone else.

I'll see if I can get the city where they tested the entire population and then followed, rate was .1 to .3%

I call bs on this. There is a myriad of diseases that can be transmitted (at least theoretical) via salvia and nobody cared in the past. You are probably more likely to catch Hepatis B from sharing a regulator than getting CV19.

Totally correct, but no wide spread panic with politics and the media feeding places to do knee jerk non thought out responses to please the masses.

This is exactly the group I'm talking about. When I've dove at several resorts, the percentage of divers that bring their own gear and use air 2 devices is not a small number.
Yes, but don't they also use a standard secondary regulator, in addition of the primary and the Air2?
I would never dive without a true secondary reg. The Air2 can be a good THIRD air source... But it cannot be trusted as the only secondary one!

As said, there are strong regional variations. The data I reported refer to the whole Italy, 60 millions people, with a large percentage of elderly people, and a very long life expectation (currently only Japan has a longer one, but for a number of social factors, they do not have so many elderly as Italy).

My suggestion is that you should keep diving in your own little world and not travel anywhere.
No one can travel, currently... I am quite unhappy of this!

exactly, primary donate is not common anywhere, except SB.
You keep saying this, but what about all those AIR2 users? They are donating the reg in their mouth, and using their AIR2 for themselves, or else they are REALLY risking a huge cluster-f*** during an emergency surfacing.

No, absolutely not. The primary use of the air2 is as an secondary air source. In the case of an emergency, the primary reg is donated and then diver switches to the air 2.

You keep saying that they're dangerous and can't be trusted as the secondary air source, but I haven't seen any compelling evidence to suggest that if the diver using them as been trained on how to safely use them in an emergency scenario.
