I usually do it at the kiosk as I exit the airport (NAIA). My same old SIM seems to keep working and the attendant usually has me purchase a couple of data cards (last time was 300PHP each for 2GB), from which the scratch and reveal a ?code? then do something with the phone to load/activate that value.

Searching online at LTE | Prepaid | Globe it seems I can't do any of this online, I need to buy a Globe value/data card.

Is there an easy way to see the currently available data packages with prices and duration?
Do Globe resellers all charge the same price?

It's not a lot of $ but would prefer to 'go local' rather than the alternative.

Hi
Just get a card and imput the Gosurf code you want (down the page you linked).
Also ask locals the code they use. I got a code for 90php, one week, 2GB which was perfect on my last trip.

Thanks.

90PHP for a week and 2GB would be perfect. Any locals here know a current code apart from the 'standard' 2GB one below?

Yeah, for Globe, just get a regular load card, say P 300 or 500, and use the GoSurf promo via the *143# command. I live here and usually use GS299, which is 2GB valid for 30 days + 1GB promo (Viber, Facebook, YouTube, you get to choose)

Load 100 pesos. There should be a kiosk/stall very near where you happen to be owned by a local who buys in bulk and resells retail, making a couple pesos in the process.
Text this (free):
gosakto90
to 8080.
Within a minute or so you will receive a few texts from Globe telling you you have successfully subscribed and outlining the promo. The short of it is you get 2 GB data and unlimited text messages to all networks for 7 days. You will also receive an additional 1 GB data/day for various other services that you may or may not use. It at one time included YouTube and Facebook but I'm not sure if that is still a freebie. Be aware that calls are not included. If you need to make a call, your remaining 10 pesos will get you about a 4 minute Globe call. Incoming calls (and texts) are always free.

Good point, gosakto is a pretty good promo for short term usage
