Nice list. Be aware that Blue Springs in Orange City is a bit of a walk if you are in doubles. Also currently closed to divers due to manatees, opens back up mid March or April depending on weather.
Thanks for the notes!

No lights for any diver (even cavern / cave certified?) at Troy? LAME!
I see lights there all the time. There is no rigid policing of the site like there is at Blue Spring.

You have to surrender your Cert card there and like Peacock 1, 2 and Orange Grove, you have to have a buddy. The policing at Blue Spring Orange City is overdone. DON'T TRY TO SNEAK A LIGHT IN THERE.

Why no Devil's Den???

Why no Devil's Den???

Good catch. I will add them back although I am sad that they do not allow doubles as that is how my tanks are configured.

Here are others that I am unsure about. Are any of these GREAT for an Open Water, Cavern, or Cave 1 / backmount diver?
  • Ginnie (Little Devil)
  • King Spring
  • Lineater / Stevenson
  • Madison (Martz Sink)
  • Royal Spring
  • Wakulla (Cherokee Sink)

CaveSloth: take a look at the photo's on Devil's Den website and you'll get a feel for what I'm about to indicate. The structure of DD is like an upside down bowl with water that goes about half way up that 'upside down bowl'. The very top of the 'upside down bowl' has a hole it it that allows sunshine to flood the site. The entire site is open to OW divers. Sure, some of diving is under the over-hanging and inward sloping walls of the 'upside down bowl' (so is an overhead environment), but are never very far from the portion of the site that is completely open..... just a few fin kicks.
