Yes, there's some non-users who've posted battery misinformation a bit and IDK why. I suspect perhaps initially stemmed from some faulty (battery) units.
Maybe . I don’t think it’s a secret that I’m a Shearwater fanboy. I’m glad what I heard is either an outlier or an exaggeration. so I do wish there was a way to attach bungee cord on the case directly like I have done on my Perdix.

In the meantime, i ordered the Narked@90 Bungee mount for the Teric and I'm optimistic that it will do everything I want. Should find out next week.

I hit the link for the Bungee Mount. I realize $45 is not a lot of money to someone who has invested thousands in their tech gear, but on a fixed income, I have to hesitate.

I didn't want to change the straps to wear my 5mm (Everflex which has a wrist slipper and extra inserts) so I just have the strap on the 3rd buckle and use this solution. (Strap changing easily consumes a pin as they cross thread very easily).

I think I would use a bungee like the one shown in the pic. Not stylish, but effective.

Still not the same as holes in the mounding but I’m paranoid.

I'll wait until the first reported loss from the strap of pin failing and then I'll drill holes and monkey with back up cave line, etc.

Let's hope that you are not the one reporting the first loss. :) I have a Tag Heuer dive watch that I have been using for years and years that haven't lost a pin yet. If it fell off of my arm I would be sick. I don't know if it has stainless steel pins with stainless steel springs (do they make such a thing?) or that I have thoroughly rinsed it after every use in salt water, but the band remains intact, so I guess you are right, again. :D

You might want to replace the pins with new ones just in case at this point and while at it use magnification to inspect the condition of the sockets the pins mount into.

You know, I may just remove the pins and place two different pieces of bungee chord through the holes. “Problem” solved!

For those worried about possible pin failure, just use a NATO/Zulu strap. A single pin failure is very rare; the chances of a double pin failure is infinitesimally small.

I do use a NATO strap on mine. But:

A NATO strap does not do anything to compensate for when a wetsuit compresses at depth.

I am currently unable to find anywhere that has the correct size and length of NATO strap to use with my Teric over a drysuit sleeve. I used to find the "NITROX-17" NATO strap easily. At 17" long, it's great for fitting around a drysuit sleeve. But, the supply of those seems to have dried up.

Anyway the Narked@90 bungee mount looks like it will actually be better overall...

Make your own or just make an extension.
