It would appear that Delta is going to cut back to Saturday only flights after April 23rd. The only time this would change is around Christmas. Can anyone else confirm this will be the case?

I noticed it about a month ago. Really sucks as Delta offered the best prices and times for my trips. Apparently Aeromex (their code share partner) and the Local Authority couldn't agree on a lease, so they are just pulling out.

Being from ATL, I am sure this isnt good news for you either.

Their airfares out of ATL (usually $600 - $700) are hardly ever good for ATL folks. I did bag one for $405 last year and thought it was a steal. Delta has jacked up their ATL -> CUN airfare to over $500 for basic economy. Between that, and my wife's bad experience with the ferry ride, I don't think I will be returning to Cozumel any time soon.

I wonder if this is only the ATL-CZM route or if it will also affect the MSP-CZM route.

Our "local authority" is really forgetting who feeds this island!

I have noticed Delta fares out of Detroit have been getting more expensive. I was looking at some dates for this summer and it did look like Saturdays might be the only days available. We only get Saturday non-stops from Detroit in the winter, but this did look like they were cutting back on the summer flights through Atlanta.

Damn - you guys pay north of $500 out of Atlanta? Three years ago I was paying $275 YYZ <> CZM. We can still fly from here for around $400 return, non-stop. Seems crazy that I fly almost 2x the distance for less.

About a year ago, it was around $275 -$325 ATL->CUN. Now, it's just frickin outrageous.

We decided to fly into Cancun for the first time. We always fly Delta from Richmond and connect through ATL. This year we're going the week of July 4 and the prices were ridiculous into CZM. I'm sure part of the increase is the holiday pricing but Delta has been raising prices elsewhere as well.

What was the question exactly? It looks like Delta a has few non-stops a week from Minneapolis, ending March 31. Sun Country has a few a week also, scaling back April 6 and ending April 13. Otherwise, Delta thru Atlanta, American thru DFW, or United Houston, and Air Canada will end it brutal service (20 hour layover!) April 25 - after less than a month? What's with that?

I always thought of you, Dave, and El G as the local authorities. Who are you referencing?

I can almost see Cozumel from here, but always have to take connecting flights - and sometimes pay more than $500.

It looks to me that they will be stopping nonstop flights from MSP in March (sometime around the 31st), and then going through ATL once a week starting April 27th.

Have you thought of getting a boat? :D
