How practical is that for the average buyer?
it's not. The selling point is the overall better design and lower total cost of ownership. You can take some of the best divers in the world and if you gave them one reg on one dive and gave them the other on the next *assuming tuned properly by the same person*, it is unlikely they'd be able to tell a difference. You can tell if you can swap on the same dive and are paying attention, but it's not something that is a "wow, this is a game changer"

If it breathes 5% easier, you won't notice it over a day of diving, but you will get that much more time and comfort across your years of use. The longevity of the equipment should be higher and the service interval is better too.
