My first year as an instructor (early 90's), my brother and I both worked for Marina Aqua world in Cancun. That year we really seemed to get hammered by the winter norte's, but Aqua World's boats were big enough to get out during port closures (Yay for us!! )
So they'd send the full crew of us out into terrible seas, with a handful of weak, inexperienced tourist divers, and since we were often a bit hung-over, and already feeling queasy just sitting on an anchored boat bobbing like crazy in the swells, if i didn't have to dive the group, I would pull on two suits, and descend down the descent line, and just lay down on the sand, and pretty much sleep for 40 minutes (and I wasn't the only one that use to do this).
It usually wasn't a full blown deep sleep, as mentioned by the guy on page 1, it was more of just dozing, but this was much preferrable to sitting on that bobbing, jerking boat, and I have been completely woken up by one of the guys returning to the boat with the group.

When I was doing my OW cert, while the instructor was working individually with each student on some drill, he would have the rest of us practice fin tip buoyancy skills on the training platform. Since there were 6 of us in the class, it would take several minutes to make the rounds with all of us. I found myself nearly nodding of from the slow, gentle up and down motion from my breathing. So I could see how it might could happen.

I've drifted off on deco... Reg stays in, apparently I have a slow mustache leak though. Awoke to half a mask flood.

What was your reaction when you woke up to a half flooded mask. I know I have pulled over while driving to catch a few winks. I would pull up to a guardrail at a rest area. I had to learn to move to the passenger side to sleep, because I would wake up thinking I was just about to crash into the guardrail.

I have a seacure mouthpiece. It doesn't fall out, but I do wake up when a flood of fresh seawater makes it in with a breath.

Reactions: Doc
Did it near hard bottom during deco, only problem is that divers around you get a bit worried about a unresponsive diver.

WOW! I think a number of you guys need to be checked out.
My wife does that often, and vice versa. Do you want me to have her log on and give a report?

She says I do not appear to have testicular cancer. She is also not amused. Story of my life.
