@Dogbowl I'm curious if you ever tried to take off your rig at depth with those integrated weights?

My rig has evolved over the years. No integrated weights, rubber weight belt and hard weights instead.

I used to use a pocket, but got rid of it. For a rec diver, we just don't need to bring that much stuff that would require a pocket, IMO.

My SMB and PLB now reside in a lift bag sleeve under my wing. Light on right shoulder d ring, knife on chest strap, emt shears on waist harness, whistle bungeed to corrugated inflator hose. I have a dive alert which would always be used over the whistle, but does require gas in your tanks.

OP, if you still think you need pockets I would go with the shorts and just have them alterted if they don't fit, but I bet you could figure out how to do without one.

You might be right. I might be overthinking this. I need to get all my stuff and try to attach everything first and see if I really need a pocket. Especially so since many here are not too fond of the single pockets that are available.

The piranha pocket is a zippered pocket...I would’ve thought Velcro was better.

Maybe it doesn’t matter, I don’t generally dive with thick gloves.

Haha, some of the prices on Piranha’s website are laughably inexpensive! Why didn’t I hear about this place sooner?

IME pockets don't work in 7 mm gloves. Or rather, they do, poorly, but only if you have only one thing in there or don't mind losing everythig else. And if I were born knowing that, I'd've just bought one of those $5 "tactical pouches" from amazon and had my shears and belt cutter in molle pouches attached to the front.

Everything that goes into my pockets gets clipped to either D ring or a loop of bungee in the pocket. Takes an extra second, but if you practice often, it's no big deal.

It would be nice to see people actually wearing their gear (harness/wing or other bc) with an attached pocket or however they attach their gear. Anyone willing to post pics?

There is much love for the pocket shorts. I get it but I’m not confident the small will fit. DGX explicitly says it runs large. I’m checking out the Apeks one that has a sturdier waist but the cost of that is high.
Th DGX shorts are great but for sure run one size large.

Nope, it's just ends up festooning out of the pocket and then you need to stuff it back. Just hang it on the outside in the first place, bungeed to a D-ring and then you don't need to practice the extra second often.

I do have a belt pouch, but then I almost never dive in 7 mm gloves. And even so, I stitched on some 1/2" webing so I can attach things to the outside instead of keeping them inside.
