Hi Jenny - I read you are in dry dock? Hope you are ok and back in the water soon.

Jim - unfortunately this was our only BHB dive this trip. We leave Wednesday. Back to Chicago. Hope you are doing well..

The dive today was near perfect. Great vis, no weird currents, warm water, not too crowded. Great time. Parking was pretty bad. We had to circle around for about 15 minutes until a spot opened up. There were a lot of Kayakers in the water and the parking lot when we got there but they all left at the same time. Is that a thing now?

Also, we saw several cars of divers parking in the boat trailer only lot. Have the rules changed or were they going to get a ticket?

Best fishes everyone!

They will/got a ticket.

Not in dry dock anymore. But now am working 7 days a week so my diving is really limited. Rare day off today and no buddy to dive with this morning. Already had plans for later in the day so BHB was out..

What are the names of the dive shop near BHB? And do they offer Discover Diving? I have a co-worker who wants to get her boyfriend involved in diving and were planning a trip down there this weekend. Thanks

It is accurate that they all offer Discover Scuba, but you must make arrangements in advance for a guide or class such as Discover Scuba Diving. Pura Vida is the most likely to have someone on short notice, but not the day of !! They are east of BHB and behind the gas station. 561-840-8750

BHB experts, I may have an opportunity at the end of Oct. to dive BHB.

Is the vis always bad in October, or was last year an anomaly?

For a weekday dive (friday) how early should I arrive for parking?

Thanks!

End of October is generally low vis. I think it has to do with the King tides in Sept, Oct. Nov. It's been my experience that vis is almost nil late October. though there may be pockets of 10-15ft vis at times.

Speaking of viz, has anyone been out this past few days? We had some heavy rains midweek and I was wondering what viz was like.
