I'm a Fish!
I can only dive two days and will have my non certified 16 old with me he knows how to dive but of course will have to do resort dives. Also have my wife who wants to snorkel. I hear key largo is the better place to Dive any Ideas for a fun family Dive.Boat or Beach are both fine with me.
Yep its me Dee Sherman x owner of Baja Dive In Cabo. I have been off the Board for a while.

Ops and hotel recommendations ?

I think your best bet is Pennekamp Park. Don't expect to take non-certified divers on anything but a snorkel or glass bottom boat tour

There are a lot of sites that work for diving and snorkeling.... i believe Rainbow Reef sometimes takes divers and snorkelers on the same boat on the really shallow sites like Christ of the Abyss. Quescence runs six packs so you can probably name the sites you want to visit if you have enough of the seats purchased. You can likely arrange a resort course at either shop. I dive with Conch Republic a lot but not sure about the resort course thing with them.

Key Kargo hotels vary from nice but expensive (Marriott), to decent and clean but more expensive than the ought to be (Courtyard) to thrashed and run down but big rooms and a kitchen (Key West Inn) to small and dumpy but good prices (Hungry Pelican). I've also stayed at Ocean Pointe condos.

With your requirements, avoid Key West.
