You obviously don't understand what trolling means, and the difference between that and making an example.

Obviously I do know the difference...

"Troll (Internet)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[4]

Yes, and I didn't do any of these.

Of course you're right that the old "I don't like what this person has to say, so I'll just insult them and call them a troll" argument is very easy to use. It just doesn't work. Thanks for trying though.

Your posts (and mine) are history. Anyone can read them and make their own decision. But, hey, whatever makes you feel better :D

Alright, so let's see.

I asked how people would feel if there were an Islam-specific subforum here.

One answer can be paraphrased as "that's ok, as long as they don't blow **** up."

Another response was "gotta be trolling."

Yet a Christian-specific subforum is a-ok. (As long as they don't go picketing military funerals? But I digress...)

Since the SB admins don't appear to see anything wrong with that, it only remains to hope that the activity in this subforum remains as minimal as it is.

I asked how people would feel if there were an Islam-specific subforum here.

I have no protest against that, or a Jewish scuba section for that matter. There are regional forums, there's a relatively women-specific forum (though men can post, the focus is on women's issues), and so special interest themed scuba groups are not new to the forum.

While there's no forum section for it, someone once way back when asked about possibly starting a conservative (politically) oriented scuba club (not a forum section, but brought it up here to discuss).

So people do occasionally take an interest in developing subgroups within the larger community. In college there are varied societies (e.g.: black student unions, Baptist student unions, sororities) based on ethnicity, gender, religious affiliation, etc...even though in theory everyone's there to pursue higher education and get a degree.

I guess sometimes birds of a feather like to flock together.

Richard.

Blah blah blah

Let me fix that for you: with a preconceived belief about the religious prejudices of others, you asked a silly, loaded question. You then misconstrued their responses, which were actually along the lines of 'Nobody cares what religious expression goes on in any religion's sub-forum, so long as it's within SB's ToS.'

Now you seem to be suggesting SB is pro-Jebus lovers but anti-Koran reverers because the only religious sub-forum presently in existance is some flavor of Christian (unless you ask the Donatists, who'd say they were the last Christians...but I digress). I'm sure your conspiracy theorizing is more in-line with reality than the improbable case of it just being that nobody else cares enough to ask to start an Islamic/Hindu/Shinto/Jewish/Buddist/Pastafarian sub-forum.

I have been trying to place/associate you with other posts. Did we cross paths in the past dealing with canadian ow certification cards and them not being recognized by shop fill monkeys in the US because they did not recognize the name of the agency as they would padi ect???? And after being denied air or something when presenting your ow card did you pull out another that they recognied like ssi or padi or something and got the services you requested? No biggy if that ws not you.. IUt has been a long time since the thread was active.

Let me ask you then in the same spirit in which you have selected islamic form. What if it was a pedifile divers form. drug dealing divers forum, female mutilation divers divers for human trafficing forum equipment counterfitters furum as just a few examples. Would it not stand to reason that an increased degree of oversight of those areas would not be out of line given the history of or the agenda of said groups. Preticularly in a letigous society that is quick to label a site based on its content. Just think SB on a federal xxxx watch list because of a forums suspected related activities.

QUOTE=dfx;7101965]Yes I understand that. My point is that it's not true. I'd be willing to bet that there'd be quite a few people who'd be opposed to such a forum. Speaking from past experience, and the line of reasoning presented is also a strong indicator.[/QUOTE]

WTF? Your post is too confusing but even if it wasn't, it's troll like with its obvious intention of creating a disturbance.

I think a bunch of people come here just to be offended.
If you ever notice, the boards that have everybody on the same page and everybody's all lovey dovey, they always peter out, they're boring.
I know the drama here is what keeps me coming back.
