I want to get certified to dive but I have some questions. I wear a size 15 shoe and I am having problems finding fins large enough. Everything I find is upto a size 13. What do guys with big feet do for fins?

Also looking at what type of mask everyone likes. I am looking for something comfortable.

Thanks

not sure about fins, but mask is a personal thing, it needs to fit your face characteristics properly

I only have "dainty" size 13's, but even with rock boots, Hollis F1s (2X) fit for me. You're best to find a pair to try on before you spend the bucks though.

I have the Hollis F-1's in XL ( I wear a 14) and they fit fine......I originally tried the XXL's and they were way too big, so they may fit you....A mask is something you're going to have to try as many brands, models and types as you can.........As t4e said, it needs to fit your particular facial features....There have been several posts about masks/fit, clear skirt-vs-black skirt, number of lenses etc....And there are literally dozens of styles.....The main thing is finding one that seals well (read old Posts)............Ck the 'classifieds' here.....It'll save you money once you find something that fits at an LDS........Unfortunately the only way you're going to find exactly what you like is a SEA TRIAL........Try it and see.........

Be sure to try the fins with the boots-booties that you will use. I recently switched to using a soled boot for colder water and it does not fit in my old fins even though both are size 9s.

Here are a few that I have found. Any opinion. The LDS does not carry them so I would have to order them to see if they fit.

Aeris Accel Open Heel Fin,
Mares Power Plana Fins,
Scuba Pro Jet Fins,

Jet fins are old standbys that have survived the test of time. They come in some pretty large sizes. Be aware that they are heavier and may impact your buoyancy if your legs are already neutral or heavy.
Love mine!

With neoprene boots on what is the measurement around your foot at the arch? That will determine the fins you need. Keep in mind that many divers incorrectly size their fins so that the foot pocket completely engulfs the foot. This is not the proper way to size it. This can actually cause cramping. The bottom of the fin should end about where the arch begins. You may also want to check out the SEAC fins. The XXL has a good size fin pocket that should fit you.
