throw in a Daco 960 first....... they can be used as an anchor in a pinch....

I'll put my Scubapro Mk7, with LP port swivel, up against your Dacor 960 in a game of sand-darts any day. Just the 1st stage is a little over 3 pounds. Last few trips to the Caribbean I had two (with complete rigs) in my carry-on. I have decided to go back to the Mk5s for air travel in the future.

My Dacor 960 with brass SPG, Zeagle alternate: 6 pounds 4 ounces. Heavier than my long-hose HOG setup, but only by 1 ounce.

If it wasn't burried in a box "somewhere" in the garage (17 degrees there right now) and I wasn't heading out for a few days, I'd dig it out, and weigh that thing just for a comparison.... maybe when I get back (though this thread will be long burried after 2-3 days.... I'm curious...

I'm using the HOG D1s and they weigh like 3.5kg (if my scale is right)??

I asked my friend to weigh his ScubaPros (entry level) and his whole setup (with a big console) weighs only 1.9kg?

The comparison is only meaningful if both regs were weighed on the same scale. You may want to take both sets to the post office and weigh it on their scale to compare.

My AL Titan LX set is 4.0 pounds.

Two second stages, one with stainless bolt snap
One first stage
B&G two inch spg with stainless bolt snap
Miflex hoses (BC 22", spg 24", LP 22" and 60")
Neck lanyard

With case about 4.75 pounds. I am considering replacing the spg with the 1.5 version that as an acrylic lens and using nylon bolt snaps. This will reduce weight to about 3.75 pounds

- 7ft rubber hose, 22" phantom LP hose, 22" rubber BCI, 30" rubber drysuit
- 24" phatom HP, 2" brass SPG
- 2 bolt snaps,
total 4lb-3oz or 1.9kg.

Double:
- Right Post: Mk25, rubber 7ft hose, B2 2nd, 22" rubber BC hose: 2lb-12oz or 1.2kg
- Left Post: Ml25, rubber 26" hose, HOG 2nd, 30" rubber drysuit hose, 24" rubber HP, 2.5" brass spg: 3lb-10oz or 1.6kg
Total 6lb-3oz or 2.8kg

My "Go to" Setup is My AL Legends (previous generation) W/ Atomic SS1 and Apeks Brass and Glass SPG. and it fairly hefty weight wise, likely in the 3kg range, the AL Legends 1st stage has quite a bit of brass to it and thus quite a bit of weight.

When traveling I replace the 1st stage with a Scubapro MK20 Ultra light, and can knock off quite a bit of weight with no loss of performance.

If you are looking for a relatively light and inexpensive 1st stage, the MK2 from Scubapro is the most redably available and lightest (not to mention cheapest) you are likely to find.
