I don't usually eat pizza in Cozumel but do like the stuff at Rolandi's. My brother always gets his at a place down the street from our place...I think it's on 20th Ave and between 9th and 7th. Nothing famous...just a bunch of chairs in front of the place....

I hear that Chicago native Matteo from Blue Angel slings a mean deep dish pie at O'Hana....

That is quite true. I have had it and it is terrific. 'Ohanas is a nice place too. Oh, and Tuna, someone will be along to tell you its Hawaiian not Irish. (See about 10 posts on a previous thread.) :)

Pizza in Cozumel????

Really, PIZZA??

In COZUMEL you want PIZZA?

I seriously love pizza, any style, any toppings but in COZUMEL???

Never!

Cheers,
Jerry

We will hit all of our usual spots for local cuisine but need a break a couple of times during the trip. Would like to find a delivery pizza and share with the guys at La Palapita.

Some of our normal spots are El Pique, Los Otates, Casa Dennis, Blue Angel (for the view), El Foco, Mission, Chilangos.

May have to give Ohana's a try for a pie. or maybe Rolandi's.

Ah Jerry, Pizza is International !! And for sure, part of the fun of traveling to a different place is eating the local cuisine, however, for some people, especially if you are there for an extended stay, it is nice once in awhile to take a break and have something familiar. Also, remember, the residents of Cozumel also enjoy Pizza :yeahbaby:and other Italian food, and Asian Cuisine and Starbucks, and McDonalds, and Subway.... etc. etc. etc...

Took the words out of my mouth Sue!

As for the best pizza - that is soooo subjective - just like "Who is the best dive op? and Who has the best Margaritas? etc.

I personally am a thin crunchy crust lover - so I like Sorrissi, Guidos and Rolandi's. I order delivery from Domino's as well - no different than Domino's in the states other than we have some additional options with ingredients that are popular with locals.

I DO like the deep dish pizza at Ohana's, but I can never eat more than one piece! I know it's pretty true Chicago deep dish - but deep dish is more of a pizza pie than a pizza to me :) For me, I don't want to have to eat my pizza with a fork or spoon - haha! I like to pick it up and bite into it :)

I just had Mateo's Chicago deep dish 3 times in 2 weeks at 'Ohana, being a pizza connoisseur & from Northern Illinois my self...it's pretty awesome pie! definite 2 thumbs up!

for the non-deep dish crowd, I go with Guido's & Le Chef does a good thin pie as well.

Wow... didn't know there were so many pizza options on the island. I don't have a fav to share, but I will say.. DON't eat at Pizza Hut. Made a huge mistake of doing that a couple years back and whew!!! the hubby and I both had wicked food poisoning. (now before you pounce on me for choosing Pizza Hut... I just had a craving for it and had been on the island for 3 months and needed a familiar pizza fix)
