The position of the devils advocates out there is scary. It is the same position of " i saw someone alone in a single 60 in the cave with danglies and a cloud trail behind him/her with a pen light n a plastic bag". Since i have not reviewed the alledged violaters certification's I will not accuse said suspected violator of being untrained because of a few random mere inconsistancies to overhead diving core fundimantals. SHAME ON YOU SUPER, I AM EMBARRASSED TO ADMIT I KNOW YOU.

It isn't the same thing, at all, and you know it. In one example, the diver is directly observed. In the other, he is not. In the one, there is proof, in the other there is no proof, only speculation.

Please keep in mind that some agencies allow Cavern and Intro in single tanks. Not every diver in a single tank is OW. Sadly, some legitimate cavern divers have been run out of caverns recently because of some overzealous self-appointed cave police.

Stand your ground Shirley, don't let em run you out....

That isn't proof, it's still speculation. Even if it did belong to one of them, that doesn't mean they went into the cave. They might have only checked out the cavern. Yes, it is against the park rules to have a light in there, but it cannot be automatically assumed that they went into the cave beyond the cavern unless someone saw them do it.

LOL, did the light swim itself into the cave? Or did it float into the amazing flow all by itself? If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, walks like a duck... it's usually not a turkey. There's no way this light got to the cave portion of the dive on it's own. I'm sorry, lights can't swim against the flow at Ginnie. And like I said, I know all 4 teams of cave divers that were there. None of us dive princeton tech 20 dollar flashlights on 4' bungees.

Quit trying to argue, this one is a no brainer.

Shirley, we spoke with these divers at length. They were OW divers only. Single tanks, no H or Y Valve, and wearing OW wrist bands

Are all the Shirley's cave trained?

Hah! Some of them can't even swim!

Then this isn't directed at you. The divers I am referring to WERE certified to be diving where they were accosted and run out of the cavern. I post this here as a reminder to all not to mistake single tank = OW all the time. The person who did this was a well-meaning cave diver who doesn't dive often and seemed to have forgotten about Cavern/Intro divers being allowed in single tanks.
