I do have all that planned out. The proximity of the B and B really helps get a proper start on the day. We are going to be in the water by 800.

No problem at all. Besides, he's switched to Casa del Mar now. :dontknow:

Akumal is pretty pricey isn't it? Tulum is not so bad yet, but no further than it is from PDC to Tulum and any of the Cenotes, I think he'd be fine commuting from PDC for one or two days of Cenotes. Enjoy it now before it changes more! From Wikipedia's PDC page, it sounds like they're turning it into another Cancun:

too late. it is not another cun. it is an extension of cancun which btw means snake nest in mayan. what the cruise ships did for/to coz the paved 4 lane from cun did to/ for pdc. the charm is long gone but it brings $ to the region.

Great tip, I am also looking for a room where I can stay just 1 week, I got my GF Elah with me... :)

55 or 65 per night plus breakfast. Thanks DandyDon! You should set up a travel service.
Travel services often add too much to the costs, and I'm not expert anyway. I just like helping people find deals when I can. Sounds like you are doing well on your own. If you need a car on the mainland, I prefer Easyway. Oh, there is a convenience store near Dos Ojos that used to have a cantina serving great shrimp tacos. Probably still there.

Oh yes great tip for a car rental. I was going to rent with rentadora isis since this is who we use on cozumel. Any advantage with easy way? We are taking the ferry over to cozumel.

I'm sure that Rentadora is good, better than the big names around the ferry dock. I tried to rent from him once tho and just could not beat Easyway. Depending on your total travel plan, you might like that you can rent/drop in Cancun and PDC, no drop charge.

Did you order Can-do maps, including the airport map?

I just filled out the form for easyway. It's a great deal being able to drop off at the cancun office. Where do you pick up in playa typically.

Yeah, if you can find the Cancun location. I did not have much of a map the time I dropped there, finally gave up and called them to come get their car. They did. It's probably not that hard; I probably made it that way. That's why I suggested the Can-do maps including free Cancun airport map.

The PDC office will send someone to meet your ferry. Our arrival time changed and I didn't have their phone number with me so we missed each other there. Their phone numbers and addresses can be handy of course. See Easy Way Cancun Car Rental: your Cancun Airport Rental Car Their office is on 10th Ave, just a block further away from the beach than the main avenue, and a few blocks north on the left/west side of the street. I think these maps may be correct...
PDC office: Playa del Carmen Office Av. 10 Norte, entre 2 y 4, Mza 7, Lote 7, Loc. 1, - Google Maps
Cancun Airport office: Km 15 Carretera Cancun-Aeropuerto, Colonia Alfredo V. Bonfil. Cancun, Q. Roo, Mexico - Google Maps

The Cancun airport Easyway airport location is actually pretty 'easy' to find. There is only 1 Pemex station on the HI WY (307) just north of the airport turnoff. Pull into the Pemex lot and go out the backside onto the street (it is a one way going north and angles into 307 about a 100 yds north). On the opposite side of the street, about 50 yards up, is a lot with a wall and a gate (it's real low rent and the driveway is not paved), there is a small green on white sign that says ' EasyWay', there you are.
Anothergreat place to eat down south is Camello Jr's in Tulum, its run by head of the local fishing cooperative and they do a great, fresh, ceviche. To get there you stay on 307 S, through town, until the very south end of Tulum. When the road stops being separated, just prior to the police check point pull a U-turn and go north about a 1/2 block. There will be a restaurant with a picture of a Camel on it and a crowd in front, great (cheap / fresh) seafood.
