fine, our minds are closed. drop it.

You can assume what you want about my diving history, it really doesn't matter what anyone here thinks my experience is as it relates to this conversation. Wether I'm diving "real" weeks and caves or not. Heck maybe I'm just pool certified and couldnt cut it in my ow for all you know.

If it is hard to understand my point of trying to keep an open mind and think outside of tech then you are not grasping what I'm saying and if you still think there is no superiority complex (and by you remarks you dont see it obviously) and no fear mongering I'm not making my points and I really don't know how to make it plainer.

Just because tech divers have no need of it doesn't mean it is not convenient or have a place in the diving community. And if someone still can't realize that and stop with the "why should a company who caters to this market cater such an inferior and useless piece of equipment" well you most definitely fall into the superiority complex catagory.

Dude, your diving history always matters when it comes to how your opinions are evaluated, and they should matter. Keep in mind that you asked the question in relation to the predator which is made for tech diving.

I was really expecting this thread to go in a different direction than what it has. Given my lurking here I really should have realized that it couldn't go there, and with my feelings on the subject I should have never went there. Daydreaming got the best of me and on a whim I posted thinking that maybe a decent conversation and perhaps some input from shearwater would come about. And oh yes it's the latest rage everyone come on drink the cool aid. I don't think I officially said that yet did I?

I did expect to get te negative votes, come on just one quick search will point out the bias against AI that the folks here on the board share, but like I said I hoped against hope for an intelligent conversation without the superiority and phone tag statistics no one can prove but keeps shoving out there. That what rubs me wrong.

I support AI and use it when it warrants, if thats the case I cant be a tech diver anymore, I should really stop doing it before I get hurt.

Ex tech diver out.

Yep. You're right. Those of us actually doing the dives don't have input from our experience.

Bottom line. Dive what you want. Shearwater is designed and built by like minded tech divers like those posting to this. I'd put money that Lynn and Bruce will never make it an option (and rightfully so in 80%) of the tech diver community.

A Shearwater is a waste of money for you if you're not doing tech by the way. Get a rec computer with AI and be happy.

Lol. How about he stop by The Deco Stop, a forum of tech divers, and see how polite the responses are?

No my diving history makes no matter for rational thinking.

I never said hey tech divers your doing it wrong by not using AI.

I never said it was for tech

I never felt anyone was attacking me

Super cool bro, you're on first name basis with them.

Yeah everyone loves keyboard warriors acting tough online and talking down to people. I should for sure go over to the deco stop.

This thread has become exactly what I didn't want and a perfect example of what I hate about this community and the way they think. Thank you for not listening to any rationality other than the same ol arguments. Buncha cool cats.

I thought about deleting this thread but I'd rather leave it.

Your experience in overhead environments would have been germane to this conversation.

You told us that we were closed minded and fear mongering by not embracing the AI wave of the future.

You don't have to. It's manufacturer has said it is for tech. In bold on the front of their website, "
Shearwater Research designs and manufactures dive
computers for the most demanding technical divers."

Good, we're not.

No, we're not. But Bruce and Lynn both post on this (and all other) forum(s) with their real names and participate actively in conversations about their product.

Do you struggle to be disagreed with in your real life as well?

So you thought about taking your ball and going home but you decided to leave your ball and leave? I'm sorry this didn't go the way you had it played out in your mind.

Here's a computer capable of tech dive mgt and air integration.

We differ in opinion. Hope the link offers what you're looking for.

Lurking? Filibuster maybe a more accurate characterization.
