I use Aqualung Legends, compact and with fixed ports. No issues at all with hose routing.

Do you have a picture of your regs setup on the tanks? Do the hoses route down on the LH side as well? What lengths are you running?

With the long hose on the right reg it really does not matter what the first stage is, but I am still fighting with the hose lengths switching between first stages on the right.

If you have a setup that works with fixed ports, I would love to use it as a starting point

(I really wish I was on the mainland to take your class. I appreciate the time you spend writing up everything.)

No pictures at this time. I'm away from home right now but I'll try to remember to get some when I get back and post them. I route all hoses up on the left side. On the right I route the long hose down, all others up. 7' reg hose on right, 31" reg hose on left. 15" LP hoses on both sides, 6" HP hoses on both sides. I've set up a lot of regs for students and it really doesn't matter whether it's fixed or swivel. The only issue I've seen is with the piston regs and the offset DIN attachment.

How are you routing a 15" LPI hose up? I have the same length, and have to run it down so lit loops back up. Not really liking it, and thought about buying something like a 9" so I can go up. I don't mind having the reg hose going down and looping, although I would like to go to a shorter hose on that as well and have it come straight up. I am using a 36" now, and think I can go down to a 30" if I route it up.

Are you running your LP corrugated from the bottom or the shoulder?

Go with a 31 inch reg hose if you use a swivel, 32 inch if not.

Yeah I think the Nomad Ring Bunge system which has some real advantages for some things, also causes some problems because the valve is facing away.

Do you show students that ring bungie outward facing valve setup at all when you teach them?

(Also I am using the over the shoulder corrugated hose because my whole goal is to have a BM/SM/Monkey agnostic system for students to be able to approach any dive in a "just add another tank" progression. I am still playing with it, though. I have gotten it so that the left reg can be agnostic, by routing the 40" LH hose down.).

Also I have recently switched to the downward flowing HP hose in part because to make the LH reg use a 20" HP hose that's the only way to do it. Once I switched the left, I also tried it on the RH, and found I like it b etter.

That's what it is! My inflator comes from the bottom. Duh.. lol

I am going to give the 31" a try. I use a 90* on my hoses. Thanks.

We talk about it but I don't use ring bungees so I don't show them a set up.

I run mine from the bottom, too. I dive an Armadillo and that's how they have always been routed. Still no issues with running my LP hose up. Can you post a photo of how you have your corrugated hose routed?

Rob,

I can tonight. I have no access to photobucket here at work. It's blocked.

I use a UTD Zing though and the hose comes right up my left harness strap at is held by a bungee loop at the dring. I run a 15" inflator hose and it loops down, and then straight up the corrugated hose and in. It works, but I think it might be a little cleaner if I run it straight up. Although running the reg hose up and then looping the inflator hose still might be a good option, that way both hoses are pointed slightly back in to my body.

It's not the best angle, but this is one of my students in a Nomad and regs, which were set up similar to mine.
