Ok so maybe I'll use miles and fly first class to CZM and then out of CUN on the way home after taking a couple xtra days to visit Tulum and Coba.

If it were up to me, I would do it backwards if possible. I did the "bag drag" both ways last year and enjoyed, but it would have been so much better had I flown out of Cozumel on the way back after a long week of diving!

In other words, visit Tulum then bag drag to Coz and fly back home once the invasion is done directly from Coz.

Also timing your flight out of CUN with the bag drag is always sketchy, I had a very late flight out so I had plenty of time to get to the airport.

Hey all,
It's been awhile, sorry to say I will not be able to make the invasion this year due to some health issues, but I have turned the corner, so I will be looking forward to 2013.
In the mean time I will dream and have my fond memories of 2011, looking forward to seeing all the pictures that are posted. take care and have fun

It's great to hear you are feeling better Ross, you will be missed this year. Roxanne and I wish you continued good luck on your recovery.

Airfare for me is still exactly the same as the last 6 days. Only goes to show there is no rhyme or reason to why fares go up or down.

Are you sure about that? Just looking on Continental's website and it shows $636. Now in the past, Continental did not included the taxes in the shown price until you picked your flight times etc. Today I picked my times and the price came out to the same price as the shown price. on the first reservations page. Still to rich for my blood, and I will be waiting till they go down.

As of now, Delta direct round trip ATL/COZ is $661. We'll see if it gets any better over time.

Yes, I am absolutely positive... Last Monday it was $501/person and yesterday it was $690. Now this is all from IAH/Houston non-stop to CZM. Today it is $636. Either way it will not break my spirit!! We are going regardless.


Continental Airlines - Error

I'd wager a bet with you that they will go down to the previous price, or maybe lower (if you are not including tax with the $408) as we get closer... Don't sweat it..

Yes it was including taxes. Sigh! I'm such a doofus. They were available for 2 weeks and I didn't grab them! Oh well, I needed to decide what I was going to do. And airtran charges $20 for the first bag so it really would have been $40 more and that is the ball park of others with a good price but no one else goes direct from BWI. Back to nail biting and airline hating!
