If you're a 5 star PADI dive shop and you want to both keep your PADI affiliation and take customers below 130 ft how would you have to do it?

DSAT or equivalent.. No worries.. As for "deep air" and the shop that once was, they were not 5 star or affiliated, so why would they care? There are a lot of non 5 star dive ops in Coz. "5 star" doesn't make one op better than another anyway, IMO. It's all about the service, DM & Captain..

You do it off the books and under the table.

Go USA........ to the all you can eat buffet :eat:

well, here's another eye opener for ya......dive shops don't advertise all their trips to the general public......many operate 'by invitation only', meaning they will have 2 sets of trips...the ones on their WWW site/dry boards in the shop.......and those reserved for favored customers......and you will go through their screening process to see if you are 'invite-worthy'. They want clear evidence you are a quality diver and not anti-social or otherwise disruptive/high-maintainance/special ed. If you are not hearing about such trips, or are not taken on advanced dives, it may mean you have been found wanting in certain areas, at least for the time being.

There are no eye openners here. Re-read what I posted. It has nothing to do with dive shops and secret trips. Read it again.

Who said anything about Scuba Mau?

Are you guys reading the forum with 3d glasses or something? Eye patch? Upside down, reflected in a mirror, squeezing lemon juice on your screens? Maybe some of you are able to see secret writing in between posts on here that only you can see, cause I have no idea what half of you are even talking about.

I think right now 8 different people are having 8 different conversations with themselves, while thinking they are having it with each other.

Who said anything about Scuba Mau?

Apparently just a statement of fact.

OK, this is my new rule: If a dive shop takes anybody on dives deeper than 160' dives on air with single 80AL tanks I won't dive with that shop. Because, in my opinion, that shop is run by idiots, and I do not choose to do business with idiots.
This is my rule. You may set your own rule. Go for it.

How did you arrive at 160 feet?

How did you arrive at 160 feet?
How do you know unless you are invited?

I bet invitations will be down on Coz for a couple of years.

How did you arrive at 160 feet?
Standard 130' limit which I think makes sense, plus 30' fudge factor to accomodate the cowboys and those experienced and willing to do this kind of diving. Much like driving 70 in a 65 MPH zone, I don't think it's unreasonable.
I wouldn't dive below 135', don't do much below 100'.
