I paid around $400 for my drysuit (Bare Nexgen) with undies. It was used, but I have been diving that for maybe 6 years. It is likley the best piece of equipment I have purchased (value vs. cost).

There is likely some justification for buying the farm (I dove a Whites Fusion, and REALLY liked that), but you can get into a drysuit much cheaper than most believe, and I gotta say the Bare Nexgen is one heck of a drysuit for the $$$.

I am a little skeptical about back entry as I tend to solo dive. For $400, I would be very tempted regardless, but for some unknown reason there are not a lot of used dry suites, in my size, for sale in Amarillo.

If you hear of one for someone 5-11 / 220 / 11 boots let me know.

I generally have a buddy but on a few occasions I have not. It is not difficult to find a non-diver to zip up a suit. I always wonder if they have it zipped properly, but the few times I have done this it has always been OK.

Front entry suits are nice, but I don't have one, and have always managed to get in/out of the suit without issue with a little help from strangers.

For whatever reason folks seem to enjoy watching divers start their dive. I guess some have never witnessed divers getting in the water. It seems that they also enjoy being involved in helping a diver gear up to a small degree! :D

If I have a stranger zip my suit and I get flooded, I will eat these words...

OK Ron, I found a nice used D/S and Saturdays forecast is nice and sunny. So once more to the B/H. If you are there, I will likely be the idiot floating feet up trying to tuck and roll.:D

hey Doug, yes Saturday and Sunday are looking like 60s and sunny, so we are thinking about heading over to BH. No decision yet, but I think tomorrow am is a go. I haven't been in the water since Oct. That is outrageous! :shocked2:

I will be there bright and early around 7:30 as my wife has plans for Sat night and after buying a D/S I need to keep out of the Doug house.
